Anybody had any dealings, good or bad?

I'm looking to buy tyres and possibly have them fitted there.

They have an ebay shop as "bikespeeduk" and prices look pretty good at £65 for front and £82 for rear Diablo Stradas.

I had a bad experience there, basically sent my mz rt125 in for its 6,000 mile service (had working brakes at this point), £168 or something.. after fitting new brake pads they couldn't get the brakes to work correctly, so gave me the bike without rear brakes. I took it back as soon as I got on the bike behind the shop, and they fiddled about a bit more, aswell as admitting that they didn't think that they felt right. This time they worked, just... at this time my mechanical knowledge was oiling the chain. So I had to get my bike sent down to Alvins, who I always had good service from and a few hours later, a new brake pedal (original was fine before handing into c&j's), and caliper adjustment they worked again... but at an extra cost of over £100.

Would of sent my bike to alvins at the beginning, as they were always very good with my MZ, but they were more expensive than anywhere else. I learned from that, you get what you pay for, and this ended up costing me far more.

This was way over 2 years ago, and I've been back to c&j's since and had no problems at all. wouldn't hand them the keys to my bike again, but I get some bike stuff from there as its close by, as long as I can do the work myself. Everyone I've spoken to who has been there has been fine and was quite shocked. I just think they thought my 125 would be easy, they obviously didn't read the MZ badge when saying yeah we'll do that!

Stick with Strathearn - good advice and hassle free.

I think that John might have had his ZX6R serviced there...If it's the same place, he didn't have any probs that I remember. But then, of course, I stop listening after about 10 secs of conversa.....

Bike won't get there without help from a trailer or van! Or ten roadside stops to blow the tyre up.

Its basically the "other half" of what was edinburgh kawasaki, used 2 be the 2 shops, but they shrunk it down to the 1 due to the costs of running the shop in edinburgh.

I bought my ZX6 from them in May 05 and they have done the servicing on it. The mechanical work has always been fantastic and the bike comes back feeling as if it is brand new. They have always been very honest about any work done (including giving me two hours labour free and a loan bike for two days as the mechanic did his back in and couldn't finish the work on my bike.) You might want to ask the question on the Ninja forum.
