being a nosey get and all that, oh and ive asked my boss for more holiday.

i currently get 23 days, plus bank holidays. i think i deserve more! i've worked here for 11 years and think i should have at least 3 or 4 days more. when i started i was on 20 days, so to have only 3 more in 11 years is a little irksome.

am i being unrealistic? my boss currently has 40 days booked off this year, but he owns the company so guess he can do what he likes, but i still think he ought to review my allowance...

Company policy is 25 days, increasing by 1 day every 5 years of service to a maximum of 28 days. This year as the company did soooooo well, we get an extra day, so this year i get 27 :) Plus i get all bank holidays as well.

All in all, its not bad on that front as the 'benchmark' in the industry is 20 days.

I get 30 days, plus a further 14 extra days to be taken on a monthly basis, and not booked far in advance. As well as bank holidays. On top of that you can add extra time off for compassionate leave, moving house.. etc etc

I'm even getting extra time to go the the Pride events this year as I've told my manager that it's important for my personal development. :cool:

Weird one where i work.

You get 26 days, but if you don't work bank holiday you loose a days holiday, but if you do work, you keep your holiday and get an extra day or money.

Every year you work you can an extra day till you have the maximum of 5 extra days.

The standard is about 20 days for us I think, we can also carry over 5 days from the last year.

Oh and I think you can buy or sell holiday days up to 5 days eitherway...

pay rises have been ok, not outstanding but above inflation so can't complain about that

i mentioned it in january boss man said he'd let me know. i've not brought it up but will do soon. wanted a bit of feedback to make sure im not being greedy!!

Actualy in fairness to myself the xmas and easter breaks for uni i spend working and revising bar a few days to give myself a chance to wind down and regain some sanity, and the summer revising some material I know I'll need for the next academic year (for example, I spent a bit of tme last summer going over alaytical techniques, I was ashamed during my second year not knowing how to operate some simple instruments and not being able to understand the output!).

I used to get 23 then an extra day for each 5 years of service to a max of 28. If you wanted a public holiday off you had to book it as holiday, though if you worked it you got paid extra.

The company previous to that was pretty mich the same (except Bank Holidays were not worked) but you had the option of buying upto 5 days extra and carrying upto 5 days over for the first three months of each year.

Now however I seem to be on 365 days holiday - but it's a painful way to do it. ;)

Get 33 days a year, Bank holidays are part of the working week so if you want one off it comes out of the 33 days. Can claim any overtime as leave instead of money if you require extra days.

It used to be 25 a year, but ive been here 5 years now so its gone up to 30, Plus im carrying 10 days over from last year, plus bank holidays, plus a week at xmas, plus 2-3 privaledge days, plus a day off for power testing a year, plus a couple of days off here and there for team building etc (im off wed and thurs on a jolly, adverture package type thing paid for, plus flexi time.

Time off and working hours are great, shame the pay isnt

Our place is 24 hours & I work shifts so I get the equivalent in hours of 25 days, plus 8 hours in lieu for each bank holiday, which is ok.

But, I've done 5 years service here now & got not a sausage more in terms of holiday time. Apparently for 10 years service you get a one-off bonus of £250... tight barstewards!

Oh, and we're not allowed to book any hols over xmas - if your shift happens to fall on xmas eve, xmas day, boxing day, and then new year's day too - tough! (as I found out last year - I was not a happy bunny!)

I travel a lot and get time off in lieu if it's weekends. Last month I went to Korea and China and due to the length of journey and time shift it took from Sat lunchtime to Sun lunchtime. I returned the following Sat, so I got three extra days.

I wish, got a full time job as a Plant Hire Manager, just do the training at the weekends, but, yes I do ride about 40 miles every day, so it has its benefits :):cool:
