Dr Rich, is it your mission in life to convert us all to BMW riders?

This is one of the few bikes that would tempt me away from the Speed Triple. Wonder how much it will cost?

Not bad for a bmw though that front fairing bit looks a bit strange, rest of it looks pretty good

Looks like some sort of odd looking critter.

Nice...some sort of race bike with the slicks on I would have thought.
Mind, I do like the current boxer cup reps...

Sorry, but the front looks like an ant with a squint. I prefer the current look.

It does look a little bos-eyed, :smt101. Prefer the old one to that, doesn't look like a BMW where the other does..Maybe thats a good thing  Whats the idea behind one blue and one white wheel, looks half a job in my eyes!!!

It looks like all those terrible streetfighters with the scooter fairings :) But the nose would come off and be replaced with a Duke 2 headlight unit easily enough I reckon.

I like it - ugly but in a good way. But I wouldn't spend 12k on one.
(not unless I can get another freelance contracting job like I used to have. Those were the days when I could -and did- spend 12k on bikes).

I quite like it, its ugly but it looks mean.

I'd always be worried that if I had a beemer, if I crashed it, it would do loads of damage because of the sticky out cyinders ?

Is this a problem ?

Only typically in a catastrophic crash so it seems. For normal crashes the head guards prevent going through the heads, which arnt expensive anyway

Um... I seem to remember on one of your trips last year one guy on a borrowed or hired Beemer dropping it and managing to make a hole in the engine.
Wasn't it fixed with gaffa tape or something?;)

Yes. It was a hired machine...with no crash protection

Gaffa covered the head. The HPS offroad kit comes with a cylinder head 'condom' which fits over should one puncture the head. Of course the hardcore refuse engine protection bars.

Oh this is just begging for mis-quote city... though I'm so childish it had me giggling just as it is.

That bike is quite stunning. Pretty? no — stunning in a brutish way? yes. Now if only they'd offer a streetfighter version, and I had the money...

it's rather annoying that i actually dont mind this bike.. and it's a bmw so i really wanted to say i disliked it!!

However, the fairings look like someone was having way too much fun with their set square on the design board!
