Tyres a bit of help? Pretty please

Hello everyone Ive got a bit of a problem Ive just sold my SV for a new r6 only had it bout 5 weeks and just ran over a nail:mad: , cleanly punched the rear tire ,now my question is do i need to replace both front and back or can i leave the front on (Still excellent condition) and just replace the back or shall i replace both, will it affect handling at all the guy at the tire place said its not recommended to use different backs to fronts? what do you guys recommend???

fit a new rear only, but get the same type of tyre as your original. How are you finding the r6 in comparison so far?

yea its really nice its abit like comparing a house hold kitchen knife (SV) to a butchers professional knife (R6), its so much sharper and more responsive and the power is endless saying that i really miss my sv i dunno what it is but when I'm our riding i sometimes just for a second wish I'm back on the sv. :(

If the front is good, just get another rear to match it. You dont need to change them both.

sorry TYRES yea the front is a dunlop sport max and they have stoped making them now so is it ok to put a new tire say a another dunlop on the back and remain with the sportmax front?

So long as the tread pattern is similar (doesn't have to be exact, but you don't want it opposite), you should be fine.

Basically, if the bike goes over a rut in the road, you don't want the front going left & the back going right.

If you're worried, change both. But concern vs pocket might have an effect here.

The general rule I go by, is to always have more grip on the front when I'm changing tyres (not applicable if I'm replacing with the same rubber).
