Hi this is my first post and first day on the sv forum and i have a problem! the bike has the f1 light on and flashes on the temp, as soon as you start the bike it revs at 5-6000 rpm I hjave found that if you turn the throttle hard forward the revs do drop but you have to hold it their. I have had it pluged in and had an c29 error code but the dealer can't look at it for 4 weeks!!!! i use it every day. hope someone out there can help me!!!!

c29 - secondary throttle position sensor malfunction.

The workshop manuals which are linked on the home page of this site will give you more information, however it may well be something you're not going to be able to fix yourself.

scorpion, DIY. Stick a bit of wire in the Dealer Service Connector, turn ignition on, the bike will tell you the error code, then use the link provided by TSM.

If the "secondary fuel sensor" means the fuel cut off, that's 33960-06G10 & is located under the main rider seat. On my K6 it's behind the ECU & slightly to the right as you look at it.

If you have to buy one, should be around £25. Simple plug it in to fit it, no tools required (once the seat is off).

That's the only thing I can think of as a seconday fuel sensor on the pointy. Strange that the fuel cut would cause high revs, but still.

No need for the name calling :p TPS = Throttle Position Sensor.

Basically, you twist the throttle, and there's a little "yoyo type resistor" (fly by wire type thing). The more you turn the grip, the more the yo-yo is pulled out.

A stock bike, the TPS kicks in a little high (usually), I think mine was set around 4k RPM. Its now set at a far more respectable setting, somewhere around 2k RPM (maybe a little under). My idle speed is around 1400rpm.

The result, is a smoother fuel delivery at very slow speeds (setting off from the line), because the TPS kicks in at lower revs. This means it's less snatchy when setting off.

It's been well documented before on the org, a search will provide good results ;)

Also, no need with the beer, I'm sure I owe more people on here beers than I'm owed. Buy someone else a beer & we'll call it even

Aha nice one. I've been wondering how to tackle snatchy throttle response for a while

Found out after a diagnostics check on sat that the problem with my sv is a faulty throttle body sensor causing the revs to stay high when I give it some.

It doesn't have an error code but is covered under warranty!

Which takes me to my next problem. Although the bike is still under warranty the dealer that sold me the bike didn't put the identification sticker in the front of my service book. That dealer (Daytona) have since lost their suzuki franchise. So my local Suzuki dealer won't do the work on warranty until I get a sticker for my service book.

Are they just being anal?
