I was thinking of buying a digital SLR, but then I thought why? I don't really want something that big and I'm going to need to spend a bit inorder to get a decent one, so I thought about what I really need.

1. Not to large, as I would like something that fits easy in my pocket or doesn't take up to much space in my tank bag.
2. Will take micro drives or SD cards, though this is optional, save me buying more memory cards. SD card would be handy as then I could just plug in to my phone and send the pics as the camera on this phone is pants.
3. Can take decent video.
4. Rechargeable.

So anyone got any ideas?

I had (still have, somewhere) an Olympus 5050Z which is a 5mp "bridge" camera. Takes a number of different media (more than 1 at a time) and is powered by rechargeable AA cells.

Long & the sort of it is that it's a cracking piece of kit that you should be with you all the time. Its only flaw is that it's a little large for putting in your pocket. If you're heading to Soho tonight I'll try and remember to bring it along.

I recommend the Canon Powershot S3

I've got the Canon G6 myself which is more expensive as it has RAW option and some other features which I'm sure you can live without. However the S3 has great video capabilities and a much more powerful lens. If I was buying now I'd go for the S3. It's very easy to use and not that expensive.
