cant remember my cbr6 ever sounding like my mates but then i never followed me did i? and when your riding a bike all you can hear is the engine underneath you and not the note coming from the zorst.

I was following an R6 a while back, with a Blue Flame can... He ran it from just above idle all the way up in 2nd, sweet music...

All this talk of IL4's just makes me want an R1 even more. I don't even know why I want an R1, actualy, since it would be far to fast for me. But they do look so good. Specialy in blue. And white. And that red colour. Oh, and black. The yellow ones look great too.
I think I'll be more satisfied with my SV when the restrictors come out, and it'll actualy rev beyond 8,000 rpm. At around the same time, I'll stick on a loud can
I do love the sound of my dads GSXR, and its only got the standard (stubby little) exhaust on...

Was out last night for a good run to inverary-coming back we came down the dukes pass and heading home I spotted a couple of guys with sportsbikes parked up,5mins later i nearly had an accident in my skants when they hammered by me-sounded unlike anything I've heard before,I couldn't even tell what make the bikes were cause they were going that fast-think one was a R1 and another was an o6 plate something-can see how the speed bug gets people -more of a rasp from there bikes -I think I prefer it compared to the deep thud,thud-sorry!

I reckon last year's R1 was the best looking bike ever to come out of Japan... That rear end :smt025

Aye tis nice.
I love the sound of my GSXR, its got a deep gutteral growl at low RPM that rises and rises to a howl when you go passed 10K RPM. I'm not sure the bloke on the 1098 appreciated the sound of a Gixer on full chat the other night when I was coming back from Poole Quay though
Jelsters blade sounds good to.

yea ok then.
Prefer the whack of a V-twin myself. There is a guy local around here that has a red pointy SV - always smile when I hear it go past. Sounds great and very distinctive. Then there is the IL4s that I can hear down on the twisty roads (usually in the evening) nice but more irratating after a while.
I agree though - Its not the same when you ride your own as you cant really compare it to others. I had a couple of hours the other day sitting in the sun reading the paper and listening to my bike going up and down the revs on the dyno. Crazy but was nice to hear.

I got a full Acky system which I can hear above the engine, though not as well as my mate when he's following on his Gixxer 600.
When he's following me, the first he knows about me uping the pace is the awsome sound from the exhaust, it also makes any traffic in front move outta the way.
I love the sound of the v-twin, although his does sound sweet, but only at full chat.
Luckypants's 650 with twin Renegades takes a lot of beating:thumbsup:

Hah, do you remember me coming to meet you at the front entrance of the campsite? Ever wonder how I just happened to pitch up at that exact moment? Heard you coming soon enough to walk over to the front and say hello, and I don't exactly walk fast :smt120

Why thank you ED. 8)
I like most bikes with a throaty can on full chat. Walking the dogs first thing on a sunny morning and I can hear the early starters accelerating up the B5105, the noise echoing over the hill to where I live, makes me wanna go out and join em. It's mainly IL4s but you can hear the V2s giving it some to. :)

oh mike! thats because i was so far infront of you :) and while were on this subject take them baffles out.:)

I get comments like Ed's and you say take the baffles out? :smt046 Those cans have had many favourable comments from bikers with the baffles in. Remember where I live; welded-in, BS stamped baffles keeps plod happy. (And makes MOTs a doddle).

i really miss the sound of my sv650 with the arrow can on it!
But
My Daytona sounds mental, the triple sound is just so intoxicating
:riding:
IL4's only sound good at full chat?
I'm sorry, but that's balls.

That's fine, if you wanna be doing licence obliterating speeds to have fun...
(Yes I do break the speed limit regularly, but i don't need to be doing 150 to have fun!)

That big triple does sound good. My mates Speed Trip with carbon race can is pretty awesome actually.
Almost as good as my 'Blade with the stubby can on ;)

ive yet to hear marshalls triumph, i'm sure i will soon. :)
IL4s need to be race-can equipped and screaming. Standard ones pootling around can sound a bit "egg whisk" really.

"egg whisk" :):):)
As much as I love a V-twin with a decent can, my Z750 with its stubby Remus Powercone sounds awesome at tickover or on the move - and I have yet to remove the baffle!

Thats exactly what my dads ZRX sounds like, he got in december and still has the standard can on. Whenever mines parked up on tickover he goes over and revs it while staring at the exhaust, its a bit wierd really
