A mate was blatting on to me today about his daughter (AGAIN  ) ... its her birthday or summin and he's going to go visit her ... I really ... really don't care!!! :D
I humor him, but to be honest he talks about her so often and in every detail of what she is up to, as soon as her name passes his lips I just switch off and start thinking about something else ... generally a bike related dilemma I am deliberating over or summin ... ;)
No my question is, should I bang his daughter (she's 19 (about to be 20) btw, my name isn't Peter File ) , then tell him I have done so in the hope that it'll shut him up?!?! .. or is that not the way I should go about this?!?! :D
Has anyone got some less brutal solution to shut him up?!?!? :D ... oh and I don't have the heart just to tell him to shut up about her as ... well you can tell he is 'wrapped up' in his daughter (only child).

And your problem is what ?
He's obviously very proud of his daughter, maybe when you grow up you'll be the same....

I think its safe to say he knows me well enough not to believe that ;)

My problem is that I don't want to hear about it .. especially all the time ... regardless of how 'proud' he is of her, what makes him think I give a feck?!!? ;)
I mean I am quite often proud of some of my bowel movements ... but I don't feel the constant need to tell him about them in every detail every time!! ... that's not to say I never have ... ... :D
Blue, you got a daughter? Daddies and daughters are a special case. I could bore the pants off you with what my girl does, she's blue eyed, blonde, and beautiful. Oh she's 9 BTW:D

May I suggest if you want to keep your 'friends' you keep that sort of s*** to yourself ... basically no-one, and I mean NO-ONE else cares!!! ...
EDIT: That goes for you too Stingo!! :D

Talk to him about something he wont care about for ages and ages and ages. I dunno, perhaps your bike if he dosnt like bikes, or you can keep telling him the story of your exploits at brands where you rode round the outside of people on R6's and the like (I.e. the youtube vid you did). With any luck, he'll avoid you instead and you wont have to listen to him anymore!
Or learn chemistry, and talk to him about that. No-one, and I mean no-one who dosnt study chemistry wants to hear about it.

The trouble is you're not listening to him. Start listening. Start asking pertinent questions. Start taking a very keen interest in her. Suggest you become her godfather. Suggest you take her under your wing. Start getting visibly excited every time he mentions her...
And for the record, I'm with nickj.

Well I a totally p155ed with my younger daughter, she turned up yesterday in a foul mood. Apperently she has had a baliffs letter, they are comming on Monday to sieze goods to the value of £510.
Turns out she owes the local council for 2005 council tax and had ignored two summons and about 6 letters. Most annoying part being the £180 in baliffs fees. Yes bank of dad again seeing as I bought everything of value in her flat. Eldest daughter spent 2 hours on the phone talking to local council (With youngest's permission) Turns out that if she had talked to them/gone to court they would have arranged an affordable payment plan. But no, she is of the ignore it and it will go away brigade.
Proud of daughter, No bloody way. Blue if you want my daughter your welcome. But please don't send her back afterwards

I love the fact that Blues thread about how much he hates hearing about his mates daughter has morphed into a "tell me about your daughter" thread...

maybe your mate is worried about all the fun your having and wants to get you thinking about settling down and having a family. Of course, if you tell him you might think about doing that with his daughter he might just start saying you should do more racing after all!!

Haha yeah. The thing is, if you don't have a daughter you won't understand, and if you do have a daughter, you will understand. I don't have a daughter, but I understand that I would understand if I had a daughter. So I let things be. If you understand what I mean :-D .

LoL, yeah, if I am not interested in hearing about my mates daughter and I have known him for … 8? years … what the hell makes ppl think I want to hear about theirs?!!?
Unless they are of legal age and you have some revealing photos of them you want to share, I have ZERO interest in hearing about your daughters people!! :smt019 :D
Anyway, back to topic ;) … I have tried changing the subject subtly … I have tried saying highly inappropriate things … but nothing seems to work long term …
So the next question is - if I was to tell him I had ‘had’ her, would it shut him up? Or would he mistakenly think I might care more?? :-k
what makes him think I give a feck?!!? ;)
The fact that ya keep listening...........just tell him p*** off and quit bitching:cool:
