not having license or bike (yet, by the end of may it should all be sorted) i can't comment on the best riding roads, but the roads in general are in a very poor condition, more like a series of interconnecting potholes - military road is about the longest straightest bit of road on the island, but the police know it and you'll probably attract attention if you're doing something silly on a sunday.

west wight is pleasant on the eye, can't think of any no-go areas and supposedly the police are fairly relaxed about exhausts etc - but you should be aware that most of the people here are aged 100 or more and simply aren't aware that there are other people on the road.

basically, don't expect millpond flat roads but the scenery is pretty good and there's plenty of pubs, if you're over towards the end of may then drop me a PM and i'd be happy to give you a basic guide of good/bad roads etc

oh yeah, all the static cameras on the island are truvelo forward facing, they operate at least one mobile van and one traffic car. the only unmarked car i'm aware of is a black octavia vRS reg HW55...

I've been there and the answer is no. It most definitely not worth the effort and cost to get there to experience the roads. They are not good at all. Not saying that the Isle is not worth a visit, just saying that if your thinking of going to ride the good roads, there aren't any.
