;) :D
Hmm.
I think the only real regret I've ever had (that I'm prepared to post about on here anyway) was something that happened in college, or rather didn't happen. Depends on your perspective.
There's a certain line from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (I have kids remember) that seems applicable. "Had your chance, muffed it!"

That's his other regret, failing maths at elementary school!
I can relate to both.
Only done my bike test last year and I'm 38.
:smt102 all those wasted years.
Also about 10 years ago a house went for sale round the corner from my mums house for 38k (don't forget I'm NI so much cheaper). I thought it was out of my league then so didn't bother.
It sold a few weeks back for 270k :(
NI has the most vibrant housing market at the minute which is why mine is going on the market in a couple of weeks.
Owning a house is overated in my opinion.
Not all wealth is measured in pounds and pence.
I've fecked up most major decisions ever made so to many regrets to list here.
Although my biggest one was probably blowing out Mary Tapsell and only realising later that I was on a promise ;) :D

Similar experiance, when i was 20/21(2000/2001) there were some 2 bed appartments going for £85K in weymouth right oposite the marina. there was an offer on to pay the 5% deposit as well that weekend.
I ummed and ahhed about it and against the best advice from my dad did not buy one. They are now selling for £250K+ so i could have made over £160K profit, then gone and bought a house for that round here outright.
The worst bit is as i am in the army i could have rented the flat out to retrive most the cost of the mortgage. and now i could own a house and be living £500 per month better off for renting it out, gutted just a bit!!! :(
not taking the job i was offered at christmas i lose my internet acces as of monday

Hope I can make you feel better. Income tax on the rent, capital gains tax on the gain. Both at 40%.
So it's not as it seems:D

No regrets, a few tough calls, but no, if I was to go tomorrow, I hope they'd say he enjoyed himself, although I can see just one, and that with be the current goal when I do go, because I won't reach it.
Can't ask anymore than that.
Cheers Mark.

No Capital gains tax on the gain if the property is your only private residence
and you reside there though.

I had a chance to buy a Morgan in 1974 for £1300 but I just couldn't find the extra £100 (my salary was about £1500 then!). A couple of years later Morgan prices took off, so I'll never own one now :(

Not guessing the correct lottery numbers EVERY BLOODY WEEK! :(
Regrets, no, none, nada, nicht, zip, zilch.
Bad experiences - yes. Even some good ones that probably shouldn't have been done with hindsight - but they were good at the time.
But actually regret - nah. I feel that would mean regretting something that has made me who I am.
Just so long as they play the theme music from the Film 'The Great Escape' as my coffin descends into it hole/fire/whatever, then I'll be happy.
regrets - no
stupid decisions - oh yeah
but I like to think of them are character building - even if just to make me feel better lol

Likewise. No regrets. Some incorrect decisions made during the course of my life but all of them has made me who I am now. I actually like me so don't consider any of them a regret.

That's not JD Wan*erspoons is it? I had the mispleasure of working 3 1/2 years with them and the pleasure of getting fired by them!!
Regrets:
1. Not joining the RAF when I had the chance when I left school
2. See above concerning JDW
3. Being cr*p with money!
4. Pulling silly faces in front of Anna when she has a camera! See avatar.
Thats it though!
JDW wasn't that bad Jester666. Well, the one I worked in wasn't.
Area management & Head Office, yea. But the delivery guys & pub management were top.
By no means a rough place, but full backup from management when we decided not to serve someone. (I remember one guy getting a good kicking to the face by my pub manager - who's now the area manager).
Anyhow, apologies for the derail :)

Regrets - Nah it is too late for them, so forget the what might have been, it was never destined to happen and learn from the wont do that again.
Yup jester JDW. Pub mgt normally not too bad but misdesigned cellars and total underestimation by area manger resulted in me nearly losing the use of my legs when a full keg fell on me so i'm feel the same of you.
I enjoyed it when i was there but looking back working 147 hours a week was not good. Sorry for the dreail but us spoonies have to moan!! (where were u Baph! - and we could start another thread)
Still nothing changes except my bad decisions - like going to Iam on the suzuki last night and now having both wrists strapped up and on the painkillers! (not mention being narky last night due to the pain and screaming at Independent photo for sticking to the speed limit DOH)
