Lol, I think there are indeed quite a few more K6/7 GSX-R owners on these forums in the last year... I noticed it too.

Only mods I'm going to do are the tail tidy and 8x6 or 7x5 plate (not decided yet), and a new can at some point - probs the new Akrapovic one that's out this year. Can't remove pegs as then the GF has nowhere to put her feet ;) and the screen...similarly to the SV I'd want a normal size screen (not double bubble) and I think that might be hard to find. I always think that the double bubbles don't fit with the look of the bikes I've had (SV and this) - because it sticks up and makes it look less sleek.

P.s. Razor - it came flat-pack ;)

Perfect colour! Giz a go :D

Nice bike! First mod I'd do would be the tail tidy closely followed by the more 'descrete' plate.

As for a zorst, the Scorpion ones I saw at the bike show looked good, not the standard oval stuff, a more agressive style.

Oh and get a huge moster family size can of cleaner n polish cos black shows the crud ;)

Nice, looks just like mine :D Obviously a man with good taste :D

Get those pillion pegs off, has your GF actually ridden pillion on it yet. Once may be enough for her. Sam sure didn't like it (Oh no, what a shame :D :D)

I bunged the R&G tail tidy on to clean up the back end, and a 7.5x6.5 plate.
Also fitted the Laser exhaust, which I'm very happy with. I can post a pic if you're interested.

As for screen, try Zero Gravity, I think their SP series is an exact replacement for the standard screen, just tinted. It's something I'm thinking about for mine.

Bet you're over the moon with the bike, I know I am with mine..... does she have a name yet ;)

Cheers for all the comments guys!

Baph, you know it's only a 600 right? ;) Ok, ok, I won't go there again :p

Beenz - you mean the stubby Scorpions? I've seen those, they are OK but the thing that puts me off is the way the can widens - I can't stand the look of those welded together bits unfortunately :(

I've also noticed that a lot of cans don't look right because the bottom of the fairings doesn't cover enough of the exhaust. Cos of this, there's only really two exhausts, three at a push that I'd consider - #1 is the new Akrapovic (again, dunno when it's out), #2 is the Two Brothers one (but the end of it has a bit of gold - yuck - not good), and #3 is the Laser twin exit one (so-so, not keen on the look).

Akrapovic:

Haha, she's only ridden the SV and isn't going to get to ride this bike until September as she's american and over there until then. But we're determined :D I bought her all the kit for last time, and I've got pillion cover, etc etc specifically for that. We'll see how it goes ;)

Actually as it happens I can only find that pic of the laser exhaust I posted - what I'm interested in is pics directly from the front/back and side-on. I've been struggling to fully grasp exactly what directions it sticks out in, etc, so if you have any pics like that, that would be great :D

I'll have to look into the screen, too - that sounds ideal.

Yup, I know its a 600.

Get this, its actually CHEAPER for me to insure the 750 than it is the 600. So ner ner ner ner ner! :p

Don't ask me how, it just is, and we're talking a good £250 with the same broker, everything identical apart from the engine capacity. Must be a desirability thing SS600 class bikes being more popular than the 750.

Oh, and the laser gets my vote :)

If you get a chance look at them in the flesh. Don't get too hooked up on the fairing bit. In the side on pics it really stands out, but when you're at the bike you don't notice it too much. The laser has the main part of the silencer underneath, with a black cover to blend it in. I haven't fitted it on mine, and it still looks good. Anyway, it's your choice, enjoy making it :)

Lucky sod! How'd you blag that eh :D I would have taken a 750 if it had been a decent deal. Didn't get a quote as it is, because the subsidy is only on 600s, and of course the RRP is £1k more on the 750. Woulda thought the 750 would come under the SS600 class but that's pretty good, being that much cheaper!

I've seriously no idea why it's so much cheaper. Actually, maybe it's more accurate if I say the 600 is more expensive.

Licence for less than a year, no NCB (yet), garage, 24, and I can insure a GSXR-600 for the same price as the GSXR-1000 pretty much. The 750 is only marginally more expensive than my SV (as I posted before).

Living in the middle of no-where helps :) Just wait until I've built up a couple of years NCB :D

Hovis, depending on broker, around £400 ish FC on the 750's. £800ish for the 600's & £900-£1k for the thou's.

Supprisingly, Bennetts was the cheapest for the 750 IIRC.

A mate used to pay more than that for his 'Blade (£1400/year) & he's been riding a lot longer than me!

Still looking V tempting to part-ex, but it's also tempting to keep the SV & build NCB. Multi-bike policies aren't an option from what I've seen of them.

I can't see you need to do anything to it. If it was mine I'd leave it as is.

I'd spray the rearsets & pillion pegs black, stick a tail tidy on, but other than that, yes, you're right Ed, leave it well alone.

everybody:............. i like the standard can, whats it sound like?
The standard can sounds lovely. I decided on the other gixer not to bother changing it, it looked good and sounded good too. You realise the standard can on the K6+ is too loud for Castle Combe? They don't allow the K6 and K7s on the track.

The Yoshi on my current one sounds great but is damn loud. On the trackday on Monday I got noise tested and it scored 103 decabels. I'm debating taking it off and putting the standard can back on. I don't really want unnecessarily attention from the police.

btw, I can't see the pics in the first post :( Just get a list of red crosses.

everybody:............. i like the standard can, whats it sound like?

From experiance of my dads 750, the standard can sounds really good, like a road legal aftermarket exhaust. It does that funny kawasaki trick of being quite at low RPM, and then louder at higher RPM. If I'm behind my dad, I cant always hear my bike over his.

Comically enough, I can't see my own pictures now I'm at work! It is, as Hovis said, black, and I'll see if I can get a photo uploaded on another image hoster. I used tinypic, normally use imageshack.us but they weren't working properly yesterday.

I've got a couple of photos here that I sent to myself for desktop purposes :D so I'll try and put one of those up with a different image hoster, give me a couple of mins...

Black ones are very very cool, my dads 750 is black  Saw a blue and white Gixxer y'day in kingston, and it looks nice too, but in a differant way to the black (not better or worse, but differant - makes the bike look differant)

Same with the new R6 :(. Seems like they are getting tighter on noise control at a lot of trackdays. The stock can on mine is ~97db, which is right on the limit for some of the quiet saturday trackdays.

I really like the arrow exhausts:

http://www.redracingparts.com/en/english.htm#english/motorbikesmotorcycles/partsandaccessories/arrowexhaustsystems/suzuki/GSXR600GSXR7502006.php

Not the megaphone ones, but the titanium 3rd from the top. Been looking at them for my R6, but given the trackday thing, I don't think I can, unless I want to keep on swapping it.

Yes! Very cool bike, really lovely. I think they look better without the footpegs (dont they just unbolt easily?) but not to bad with them on (I'm used to seeing GSXR's without them)

Happy riding!

As I said earlier, there is a black cover that attaches to the main body of the silencer. However, due to some rubbish welding the captive nuts you bolt it to are in slightly the wrong position, so I need to attack it with a dremel at some point. But it doesn't look too bad without it (imo)

Whats the sound like?

Yeah, there is a black cover to cover it up. See above as to why it's not on :)

The sound is nice, deeper and louder than the standard one (Which is load on it's own :D )

Thanks for those, they really help actually. I've always seen that side on photo and I think that the angle of them makes it look odd from that view point, which was the problem. Looking at them from the front/back/top they look really nice - I LOVE that look from the back, looks awesome!
Is it a lot louder? As you say the standard can is pretty loud, which is why I'm not convinced about changing just yet. I'm thinking though, that a road-legal can, baffled, might be the way to go. Hopefully not too much louder.

Matt, not sure on the footpegs - tbh I probably cba to even try :D they look a little out of place being silver though, but I think that painting or even powdercoating won't work and it'll just rub off.
