View Full Version : I miss biking
just need to vent a tad
moved to dubai a year ago and reluctantly sold the SV.
biking here is a bit of a no go zone, firstly it's too hot (it was 41 deg c today) and more importantly the traffic is so non biker friendly.
you guys are lucky to ride in a climate and a region where bikes are viable. take care out there, and have fun!

And I miss my bike! :(
Hey Will, if it makes you feel any better, your old tankbag is still getting good use.
Some people are just never happy eh :?:
Go make some sand castles, that should take your mind off it.
So when you coming home then :?:
hey debs, who owns it now? I sold it to a guy on the forum but can't recall who From St Albans/Watford area somewhere I think.... c'mon who's got ET03 MWM?
he's a young guy who had lost his previous SV on a bend and (thankfully comically) got his head stuck in some railings....

hi simon
glad to hear the tank bag going well.
dubai is a 3-5-possibly 10 year stint to make some $$$$$$. This place may be tax free but it's massively expensive. cars are cheap (yes - I have indulged in two big 4x4s for me and da missus) but rent and general day to day expenses are comparable to the UK. It's also an exciting place to be with it's growth and all the new mega real estate projects.
luckily the business environment and loads of other things (eg v low crime rate, life style and weather) are waaaaaaaaaay better.
fellow sv-er karl james is in Dubai too, see him from time to time. If anyone is plaaning a trip to Dubai, I will happily show them around/go for a beer etc.
So that's a "no time soon" answer then.
You could always come back for a holiday you know. AE07 is just around the corner. You could be the surprise guest.

Dunno, never heard of it again after you parted company with it. Still got the numberplate up in my kitchen!
