Hi
Has anyone on here done a guide as to how to setup the suspension and gemoerty of a bike? I am not looking for gp level stuff but it would be really nice if there was a single source of info on the cause of problems and the affect of changing various settings. I know much of this knowledge comes with experince but it would be nice to start somewhere.
I am willing to buy a book etc if anyone knows one.
Thank You

You done a search? There is a site that has been posted on here a few times that tells you how to set sag, you can't do much else with SV suspension.
Back issues of PB, Bike and Superbike will have detailed suspension guides (as in, talks you through how to set your own up, not a list of numbers) but I don't know if they post them on their websites.
Dunno if it was this months or last months superbike, front cover is the test of all the 600 sports...anyway in there is an idiots guide to suspension/set up n all that malarkey...speaking of idiots i still didnt understand it

great link many thanks
Dunno if you have seen this before but this is a link to the Performance Bikes Magazine suspension setup guide, telling you the best settings for a range of bikes, including SV650. I used these settings on my GSXR600 and handling improved massively. I think the settings are aimed at fast road-riding, so if that is the kind of riding you do these settings should be perfect

Anyone know what issue this was or even have a scan of the pages?
mattyL - when they say "1/4 turn from fully in" does this mean "in" as in all the way to the softest setting? (Mine's is a cbr 600f).
Were these settings for people of my weight 13.5 stones or someone 9 stone?

Word of advice/caution/disclaimer....looking at these settings I am severely on the skeptical side.
One setting for sag regardless of your weight? 10stoner versus a 14 stoner on the same sag settings?
I smell wee!
NOTE: THE MOST IMPORTANT SETTING IS RIDER SAG. If you don't set this up properly in the first place then you are ****ing in the wind when it comes to compression/rebound settings.
