You know the Oppenheimer quote? "I am become death, destroyer of worlds". That's our cat that is. She's a one feline death squad. Up until last night her most imaginative haul had been a budgie (and I don't want to think where she got that), but last night at some god awful hour she dragged .... a snake .... through the catflap. Well, technically a lizard, still, scared the bejesus out of me :)

Jeez!

All Artoo leaves me is presents in the litter tray; the smell of which could peel paint.

It's funny, I don't understand why people don't like snakes/lizards. I got bitten by an adder when I was about 12, and one attempted to bite me last year (I'm 37 now), but I'm fine with it. I'd love to see a slowworm again - not seen one for years.
Terrified of heights tho!

we should start a thread on this one! Mice, snakes, lizards...not a problem. Spiders? I'd mow you down to get away!

My missus was looking after a couple's cat while they were away on Honeymoon... She went around to their house to feed the one morning to find a Squirrel with its throat ripped out on the kitchen floor

oh...joy! Moral of that story is never cat sit! I always worry that the animal(s) in question will die, forcing me to (a) replace it (b) move (c) deny everything....although (c) is a life philosophy :D

Between our 6 cats have had, various birds living and dead (the living ones not being in a very good state and having to be "put down") mice (all dead) a rat not dead when brought home but dead very shortly afterwards, Goldfish and carp from next doors pond but worst of all are the frogs, wife hates them and has spent over an hour in the downstairs loo waiting for someone to come home and get one out of the house.

Oh and yep, the snake/lizard/damn scary slithery thingy was very much alive but thankfully in too much shock to object to being scooped into a tupperware container for subsequent rehabilitation into the wild. This cat just brings friends in to play, she rarely harms them (though it's generally much easier to clean up a dead blackbird than one flapping around) :)

EDIT: Yep, frogs are the worse - they make a horrible squealing noise :(

mine brings us rats & mice, a few birds (very rare though) (cassie brings them in, shes the older one)
and bees (ninja, our kitten), we had a dead pigeon once aswell!!!

Was staying at my mates once when the cat bought them a present in the middle of the night.....a bat..it dropped it on the bed and the thing was still flapping around, his missus screamed, he screamed and we then had to try n get the thing out of the bedroom, If you've seen the film "the great outdoors" with jon candy n dan akroid...well it was reminicent of that
