Charley Boreman??
Bingo!
Met him in Rykers, he was just out putting some miles on the bike he's using for "The Long Way Down" after its first service.
I was just buying a drink for me and a mate in Rykers and turned round and he was stood in the doorway. I thought I'd walk over and say "hi" and in the typical way that strangers walk up to famous people, I walked over with a smile on my face before realising that he didn't know me, even though I felt like I knew him. Said "hi", apologised for bothering him "I'm sure this gets annoying and you get it all the time..", chatted to him about what he's doing, how his prep' is going, how his hands are after the Dakar, my bike etc. Bought him a cup of tea (true gent', he was happy to accept the tea but put the cost of the tea from his money into a charity box) and let him get on his way.
Top bloke!
Claudio and Jim, the cameramen from Long Way Down came into work the other day and I spent the afternoon demoing some new camera kit to them. Asked if they needed anyone else to go with them...
Oh, was hoping that you were gonna say it was gonna be Clint or George now that would have been impressive.....seeing as one lives in the US of A ;)
Cool - when are they leaving?

Mr Boorman is really cool, I met him at alexandra palace a couple of years ago, he's really into bikes and we got our chat cut short beacause we realised we where holding up other people!
I guess he;s your typical biker - always has a story to tell to anyone who'l listen.
He'll be a brilliant old man! Lotsa stories for the grandkids, bit like the blokes I used to serve food at St Dunstans in brighton when I worked there. Military veterans they where, fantastic stories to tell.
Matt
ohhhhhhhhhhh I would have loved to have been there!!!
Cool, look forward to seeing the new film/video thingy
I thought it would be someone exciting!

Was it the same model bike as LWRound? Or did you not see it?
On a side note, has anyone registered on the LWDown site for email updates and actually received anything? I registered about 6 weeks ago but haven't had anything at all yet.
