Hi Yer,
Picking my Curvy up next week, and just wonered how I can tell if it's restricted? I know that they have washers in the carbs , but how easy is it to find out?? Plus If I fit an after market muffler will I need to change jets in carbs? Is there a links page to after market parts?
Looking forward to getting to know you all ,,,, and my bike :smt038

Could you not ask the person your getting the bike from (or dealer for that matter) whether it's restricted?

I'll ask the dealer, but he's a bit of a gimp,

Er, no It's only got 11,000 on the clock , no scratches and blooming big bobbins on the frame they must stick out 4 inches each side! look like bloody stabilsers ..

I was so excited about finding one I forgot, I heard it running and is as quiet as a mouse..

You will be grateful of the 'stabilisers' if you put it down the road :)

Dealer should be able to tell you if its restricted, but if not, as Lyle said, it will feel gutless....and well 33HP!

If it is still on the standard can it will sound as quiet as a mouse buried in cotton wool. Give it a blast, should be perky up to 80mph, with more to come after that but not quite as fast.

Got buings that stick out a mile too, saved some plastic and knees so far!

And welcome!

Greetings to another metal man just down the road and welcome to the forum

A number of riders on here have restricted SVs so should be able to help. It seems to depend on the can you buy as to whether you need to change jets; I've just got a Fuel and no changes are required (OK, I know mine is injected!) - from feedback on the forum, people seem really pleased with Fuels :thumright:
