They aren't great to be begin with!

Just so you know, if you have a pointy, get rid of the Dunlops when they run out of tread. I have noticed that they BECOME SLICK and therefore DANGEROUS and ILLEGAL
That must have been what you meant :smt045 . Conversion to English comes free.

Still using the Dunlop's because I cannot afford a new set of tyres.
As I don't ride the bike like a racer I should be ok for awhile yet.
Well i hope so :-k

TBH, if your starting out riding and just getting used to the bike and running it in and now the warmer weathers here, then the standard Dunlop's will do the job.
Yes they're not brilliant but then they IMHO are'nt that bad either, I've ridden summer and winter on them and I never had any trouble with them.
Yes you can do better, but not everybody has wedges of cash to throw around replacing tyres that have some usable life still.

:winner:
There is no need to ride directly behind any other vehicle, especially a motorbike, offset slightly to either side is much better and would have saved your visor regardless of the tyres in front on you.
I interpreted b1kerb0y's post to mean...
"when the time comes to replace your original tyres, ie when the tread reaches the legal minimum then you should consider replacing them with a different make as the Dunlops have a tendancy to throw stones and this is a both a nuisance and possibly danger to all road users, not just motorists".
But maybe I don't want to attack all posts, even if they are made by people with cretinous spelling, punctuation and grammar.
I understood the "gd if a cars followin u tho!!" to mean that he did not quite have the concerns to which you allude in your, otherwise, admirable post above.
I believe this is another example of poor standards leading to doubt and uncertainty as to the intended meaning.
