I bought an Almax chain and squire lock for my bike about 5 months ago, the bikes been sold now so I have the chain, lock & bag for sale.

I bought the chain on advice from fellow .org forum users and after reading a few bike mag tests that recommended it, if i remember correctly it can't actually be cropped like most chains on the market. It's the 2.0m long chain if you check the website, £199.99 new.

You can never have enough security! lol

When I was speakin to Maxine of Almax when purchasin the chain she told me a story of a guy that was ummin and arin over whether to buy their chain or a new exhaust system at a show.

He went for the pipes.

2 months later he called up and said remember me? I wanna buy one of them chains now for my new bike... my old bike with that new system was stolen!

I'm not sure how much of the story is truth and how much of it was a sales pitch but it does make u think!

The chains been sold now anyway people, Ter picked it up yesterday, top bloke.

i agree with that but it still doesn't make it any cheaper

That's one of the more expensive versions of the chain though, I have the 16mm link chain (III rather than IV) and both of them have been tested "uncroppable" so I just chose to go for the 16 instead as it was cheaper. Also that's a 2m length one, they start at 1m, so it does depend on how you need to use it. And....it's got that Squire lock (which I've also got) and it is a pretty hefty one...

There's a lot of 1 off (or irregular, at least) costs with a bike, chains being one of them. I wouldn't refuse to buy leathers because they cost over $400, for example! :)

i know the feeling but it still makes you cringe a little before you go ahead and buy it anyways
