Thought i'd share some before during and after pics taken when fitting my new fuel exhaust earlier today. I'm well pleased with myself - this if the first real mod i have done to my bike - and despite being a mechanical moron completed it in under 2 hours :D :D

Is that wee kinked bit on the inside of the pipe where you stopped sawing and twisted the can off ;)

yep u got me there.

i just got bored with all that sawing and yanked it off :-(

i tried to straigten it out a bit afterwards but didn't get it much better - still it seems to fit okay and theres no leaks. :smt048 :smt048

Theres no difference really (as far as i know). Fuel just seem to make good quality cans at a reasonable price.

They're not that expensive - i think they start at under £100. The blue titanium one i got is £195 and u get a free bar of kendal mint cake.

I have to say their service is brilliant too. I ordered it on a thursday afternoon, and they manufactured it that day and it was delieved friday lunchtime!

Check out their website.... http://www.fuelexhausts.com/

u bes tgetting somgood heavy duty gaffer tape too. that decorating masking tape is pants.. honest.!!

plus-- wrap a load of it around a screwdriver in yer tool kit and put it under the seat with some cable ties- could be very very handy

The leaks make a lovely popping noise. You're missing out ;)

Looks good though.

You missed out on a bit, mate. You should have taken that hacksaw to those black arms sitting a bit above the wheel, too. The ones with the helicopter landing platform on the back. ;)

Was scanning the web yesterday and landed on the Akrapovic ( www.akrapovic-exhaust.com (http://www.akrapovic-exhaust.com) ) site. They now do a bolt on for pointies. Very cool.

Only for the SV1000's they do, the 650's are slip ons unless you get a convertor, which would be pointless on a 650 as you have to cut the exhaust anyway!!!

if you bye a after market can and want to put the old one back on (for some bizarre reason) do you have to weld them back on or is there some sort of link pipe thingy available :smt102 cant make up my mind to do it or not

Nothing wrong with chicken strips it shows you are a safe rider and your riding within the law. ;)
