Looks good, I was thinking of getting one. For someone whose knowledge extends to where the petrol goes and how to turn the throttle , is it easy to fit.

Apart from the 2 screws that attach the chainguard ( which is obviously removed ) is there any other drilling or screws

HI, I'm having problems fitting my pyramid hugger on my 08 sv650sport, ive attached the 2 screws on the chain guard side, and used the bracket on the other side around the swing arm. I put the bracket after the brake hose bracket, but the hugger rubs on the tyre at around mid way of the hugger. Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like it is fitted too far back, is is definitely a K8 hugger?

when i put mine on i drllied the holes on the chain side a little bit to make them longer, kind of lengthened the holes towards the back of the bike if you know what i mean, not too much tho, only need to do it lil bit on both holes then just push the hugger towards the front of the bike
also i took the bracket for the rear brake line off
hth

Yea, I got the 2007-2008 pyramid hugger, ordered by the dealer for me. The instructions that came with it say 2007.

Damn, don't have a drill. I thought the hugger was meant to fit without any mods?

Thats okay, same hugger for both models.

It is really, what you need to do is open the holes up (backwards) so the hugger can sit a little further forward and not rub.

On my K3 naked I threw the Pyramid hugger bracket away and made my own from stainless steel 20 gauge sheet. It attached to the two bolt holes that hold the rear brake hose loop in place. The Pyramid bracket is fugly and corrodes faster than the rest of the bike.

I'll have a word with my ex-girlfriend, who now has that hugger on her bike, and see if she can take a couple of photos.

I just fitted mine this afternoon on a k8 , and had the same problem with it rubbing on the tire , seems the bracket needs to be right where the loop for the brake line is . Its a bit of a pain in the a$$ . I elongated the hole in the brake line loop bracket and refitted it up a bit towards the shock .

It should just fit on though, these huggers are year specific you shouldnt have to drill it or move brackets to make it fit .

I wish they could make a hugger without the big lump of chain guard as well . looks a lot neater . Im not sure I like it now its on I will give it a while see if it grows on me .

Yes proper....... thats what they say about everything from yesteryear , I remember when they made proper bikes ...... built to last .... ahhhh the good old days .... when they made huggers and you provided your own tyraps to hold it on .....:-D

Yeah, you could fit acetylene lamps and a hand gearchange as well.
