I've got a very similar Mk3 (95 - 'N') Astra Sport that I picked up for next to nothing... Hasn't missed a beat ;)
Its easier to break than a proper ground anchor. Probably kick the front and the chassis leg will fall off.
It'll stop oppourtunists but not the harded chav.
BTW, its needs a decent t-cut and polish

Nothing wrong with the ashtray...i got one too :D never thought of using it as a ground anchor though...lol
Same as cloggsy, never missed a beat....thats cos the radio doesn't work :(

is it certified to get you a discount on your insurance? Didnt see it in the list when I renewed. Abus lock - check. Mk3 - Check.
Isnt someone more likely to steal you tax disc holder than the car? Worth more after all.
