Shred-a-thon

Started sorting out some stuff this afternoon as we are moving house soon.

Up until today I still had every bill, invoice, payslip and statement I have ever been sent since 1999, a good 50% still in its envelope unopened :oops:

There would have been more but Mrs Tricky sorted it all out for me in, erm... 1999. :oops:

My recycle bin was empty before I started, all those trees :(

Thats pretty poor, we can put all sorts (http://www.gedling.gov.uk/index/env-home/ds-refusecollection/ds-twin.htm) in ours.

Different councils have different schemes, some better than others.

:D It was getting quite hot, I had to keep giving it a little rest to cool down.

Know how you feel Tricky - I moved a few weeks ago and it was a complete nightmare with all the paper :mad:

:lol: I did the same thing a few weeks ago due to my pending house-move (been waiting ages for it all to get sorted and STILL no exchange...)

It took me a good few hours and I was REALLY fed up by the end... Had two big white recycling bags worth of paper by the end of the WHOLE clearout (included newspapers and stuff too tho)

I'm moving too and me and the wife spent a good afternoon sorting out old invoices n that, got about 8 dustbin bags full - thought up a good 'green' way of using the shreddings - use it in boxes as packing;) for your breakables , it works really well and is nice and light, and whats even better is my mate is moving house next month as well so that'll get passed onto him for the same use!!
