Not sure if this has been posted before, but I have been asked a few times about how to download vids from youtube...
all you have to do is add kiss in front of the youtube bit of the url
e.g.
To download:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul0gfCyeiyM
change the url to:
http://www.kissyoutube.com/watch?v=Ul0gfCyeiyM
and scroll down the page to find a download button.
Files come down in a flv format, but there are converters out there that will change this to whatever you want.
