It looks like a really good trailer, but looks nothing like my favourite kids cartoon. I don't know what to think. Hopefully I can enjoy it just by pretending it is not transformers, just a different film about big robots.

Every trailer I see just keeps looking better.
As a kid I grew up with Transformers the Movie. As an adult I list it as my favorite film of all time. They better not disappoint.
Cant wait to see this film. LOVED Transformers as a kid. Had loads of the toys, comics, watched the cartoon and still have a copy of the original movie today.
Until all are one....

I bet it's going to be rubbish. But, the CGI's decent- very solid and heavy feeling, good trick that. And they've got the transforming sound right.
"Resurrected by forces they don't understand.
A powerful hate plague they call 'fan-demand'
From his grave-ship soon Optimus Prime then arose
To save us from lame toys with lamer kid's shows.
Now I'll sing you the ballad of Optimus Prime.
He was the greatest Transformer there were of all time.
He was a big rig, a robot, and a really nice guy.
He was proof that a hero's more than meets the eye"

Michael Bay? Oh dear...looking at the list of films he has done does not give confidence. The best film he has done is The Rock which I think is the alcatraz thingy.
However Rotten Tomatoes gives it 59% so it ain't good but it is no means bad.
Better than Shrek 3(not difficult) and Pirates OTC 3, equal to Spiderman 3 and but not as good as Toy Story.
The critics say it is dumb, loud and cheesy. TBH, I would have it no other way:thumbsup:

I LOVE TEH INTERNETZ!!!!!!
Especially in this TORRENTial weather.
I see that some of the Autobots are different cars than they were originally
Wonder is any of them are Mininova's ????
Cool film :P
Will be there in the 1st week

The vacuous (sic?) djs on Kiss fm at 7.30 said it was the best action movie ever.
Better than Terminator 2. Erm, right. T2 the "best action movie ever".
I always worry when idiiots praise a movie.

I went and saw this last night. It's OK. Michael Bay missed the mark by less than he did when he made Pearl Harbor ;) It has big robots fighting, and it's extremely dumb, but it's also mainly good solid entertainment. You'll need to turn your suspension of disbelief up, the fighting robots are one thing but the actual plot takes more effort to buy into.
The effects are mostly pretty good- the stills look bad, but in motion the models are mostly very good, and they have an excellent weight about them that's usually missing from CGI. But obviously, there's a lot of it, since it's a film about Big Robots Fighting. There's also a Mille in it, which naturally sounds like an IL4.
Also, when we got into the cinema they were playing the soundtrack from the last one, which put all the old geeks in the mood (the entire audience was in the 30-20 bracket, naturally)
I was really disappointed. Saw it at the 1am showing down St Reatham.
Weak plot.
2-d characterisation. All stereotypes...
Way too long.
I fell asleep during this movie, I was that bored!
Here's hoping Die Hard, Rambo & Shrek are better!

It's a film about giant fighting robots, not french arthouse cinema :D
Well I think it looks fantastic from the trailers and I can't wait to go and see it :D

Saw the film.
Yep it ain't Godfather but its giant robots for fecks sake!
I think the film is as good as it was going to get. I enjoyed it more than Harry Potter and Shrek. About equal to spiderman3.
Not the best action film ever...no where near but I wasn't in the mood to ask for my money back.
At least it didnt take itself too seriously. 6 out of 10 is about right.

I saw the new Harry Potter film too- much better, I reckon. Pretty ace, in fact. Skillfully pared away all the rubbish that made that book about 25% too long, too.

Don't like Harry Potter...at all.
The film was boring. I was watching the film and thought that it needed giant robots that can turn into cars and stuff. But got some wand waving stuff instead. And JK Rowling is a millionaire. God, some people...tsk.
Autobots....roll out!

film ok, effects great.
Saw it last night and thought it rocked, as did my girlfriend.
Don't go in expecting a wonderfully convoluted plot line with intrigue and mystery. Go in to see a bunch of huge feckin' robots pummeling each other to bits...

Now that was the kind of review that I wanted to here ;). None of this " I think the actors were weak and lacked direction" tosh!!!!
Robots fighting with loud noises and explosions. I'll book my ticket.
And its nicely set up for a sequel too, especially seeing what happened to some of them at the end (geek fans who know the old cartoon series and where the Decepticon base is located will know what Im on about)
Good film, fantastic effects which look ace on the big screen. Not the most well written plot ever but a good action flick none the less. And seeing Prime transform for the first time was superb! Shame there was only his voice that was original from the cartoons, but you cant have it all I suppose.
Hee hee - the little 'ninja' Decepticon is twee - in fact the who film is very funny...
... if you like your humour cheese flavoured. ;) 50' tall robots playing hide and seek in your front garden - only to be told that 'turning back into a truck parked on the lawn is not hiding'.
It's big, fast, loud, contains many explosions for no other reason that they are cool, as well as the obligatory tough music video sequence and lots of shooting - ineffective shooting, but it's still shooting. ;)
And you learn that not all mobile phones are made in Japan! See - educational too!
Hell - if they ever did a Q & A after a Michael Bay film he could only stand and shout "Are you not entertained?" :D And you are.

Amazing action movie. One of the best I've seen. For effects, it is the best film to date bar none. Everything looks so convincing, the lighting, teh depth perception and motion on all the cgi elements is mind blowing. It really is scary how good it is. As for plot I thought it was great, but then I love Transformers, so it doesn't have to be a deep involving plot. Some cheesy parts, yes but nothing that detracts from the film. Also the film was very, very funny. 10/10 from me.

Ahhh - that's because for some reason people think that Pearl Harbour is an overly long romantic chick flick... it's not - it's just that an overly long romantic chick flick seemed to get spliced on either side of a short film showing the attack on Pearl Harbour.
I blame the guy who works in the cutting room myself - they do still have cutting rooms don;t they? ;)
genius! "Pearl Harbour sucked, just a little more than I miss you"
Team America World Police? Was racking my brains for a while, thought it might have been South Park :)
I saw this the other night. Bloody great. Best film I've seen for a while. Just sit back and become totally engrossed in the whole fantasy. No emotional turmoil, no heartbreak for the sake of it, just good clean fun and great action.
Hmm, I'm obviously in the minority here!
I did fall asleep during the movie a few times....the one thing I remember was that all Optimus Prime did was to walk around thrusting his nipples about.
