Its looking increasingly like the SV will remain mine, when the insurance monkeys have finished their squabbling.

As i wont be able to ride it for a while/its not economical for repair i will be looking to sell it, probably to someone who can take it away in one foul swoop, as i can see breaking it with a busted knee being a pain.

I will get photos when its confirmed as mine but until then heres a brief description to size up interest if there is any.

Front end collision at 20 MPH with a van, so the front end looks pretty busted up. Plastics/clocks displaced, but whether everything else can be straightened i dont know (Clip-ons in particular dont look healthy).

It then fell on the RHS but the crash bung pretty much saved it. Maybe slight scratching at worst from what i can see....seems very minor.

From a really quick assesment heres what i think may be easily salvageable:

Lower fairing-Yellow- very minor scratch on RHS
Standard can/pipes- scratched a bit but seems ok
Rear hugger-Black/carbon fibre look
Front seat
Pillion seat
Rear grab rail
Pillion pegs/hanger could be good
Battery-pretty new
Chain/sprockets- roughly 1000 miles...good quality
Engine- i have not removed the fairing or had a detailed look at it, but encouragingly it started first time!
Rear wheel and anything attached/near it should be good condition

In summary anything away from the front end is probably it least useable if not in good condition. So probably other bits there to be salvaged.

So whats it worth/is anyone interested...otherwise it will probably end up on ebay.

I saw him a week or so ago and he seemed to know what he was doing and has treated a few pro-sporting injuries, so that bodes well. As for time frame he thinks a year is unrealistic and 18 months from the operation is more likely, which is pretty crap news. Its been 1 month tomorrow and im already going crazy from the inactivity!

Anyhow i got the bike valued by an independent assesor and surprisingly it was a decent value....i imagine the 3rd party's insurance will try and knock it down though...which to me negates the usefulness of an 'independent' assesment.

Hi Nick i see you are coveting an IL4, the SV didn't last long did it:smt068 . When i get back in the saddle im probably going to go down that route aswell, so keep me informed how your search goes.

I've just crashed my yellow 99 SV.

What's the tank like?
Front RHS fairing & indicator?
RHS mirror?
Brake levers (front and rear)?
Rear RHS fairing & indicator?
RHS footpeg?

In reponse to the PM's i have had...just to say i have read them, but will not be replying in any detail until i know the insurance company does not want it. Then i will get some photos up ASAP.

As for splitting i still would rather it went in one piece.

bummer. No worries, I'm not in a hurry. But if you do decide to split it, I'd def. be interested.

How much for the undamaged bung - if it is the cylindrical R&G type and will fit a 2001? And if you want to split that.
