"The Atlantic storm
Britain is in line for its second bank holiday washout in a month, the Met Office have announced. The current dry and sunny weather will make way for a 'superstorm', which will bring heavy rain and gale-force winds. But on Sunday, things start to go really downhill. The Met Office's Barry Gromett said: "It's a bit early to be talking about things like flash floods - but there is a small risk."
It is too early to say whether the "Atlantic storm" will be one of Britain's worst ever, but forecasters warn that travel disruption and accidents are inevitable."

Gordano services might be better Hovis, as otherwise need to go through Bristol. I'm a possible if the weather is fine. Or Fowlers or somewhere its just the Welly isnt reall en route.

me & S.H came up with the welly........... but its not a problem to change it as long as we all know where............ plus i hav'nt got a clue where the gauge is plus i hurt my back & not 100% sure i will be there, but i want to, as long as we decide wher to meet?

Hi
May I join you guys tomorrow if the weather is good? I live about 2 miles from Gordano services and seeing as I can now get my bike off the drive, be good to get out on it and meet some other SV-ers :)
If weather is good i might see you at cheddar, gordano is the wrong side for me. What time you meeting at Gordano? Should give me an indication as to when you'll get to the Gorge!!
Gordano services 11 am?
anybody know where the gouge is?
Yeh but im the wrong end  don't get lost!!! :smt110 If you follow the A38 you'll see it sign posted, then just follow signs for cheddar, not that bad to find!!

OK now go to www.metcheck.com (http://www.metcheck.com) and pop your postcode in and then see what it says.
I dont trust the BBC website. IMHO the metcheck one is much more accurate and for Yeovil its showing that its going to lash it down for most of the day.

Right had a look at BBC and Met Office they say cloudy start brightening later. Met Check is saying rain. So will play the odds and say its a goer (reserving the right to decline in the morning).
We will meet at Gordano Services at 11.
Allowing for stragglers we leave at 11:15 prompt.
Depending on who's going decides the route. I can get us down there, but the Doc knows the more interesting 'roads'. He and others can get us in at the top, if I lead I be coming in from the bottom.
There will be a stop for the MoFo ice cream at the usual spot in Cheddar for any who are meeting halfway. However I can't guess a time.
As a small word of warning: The will probably be some gravel in the twisty parts of the Gorge due to the rain so please ride accordingly.

Its brightened up here but very breezy. Forecast is for rain to clear eastwards, possibly improving as day goes on. Looking out my front window looks better than looking out of the back window
I should see you at Gordano. If it rains at all I shall be going VERY slowly.

Well, Ive just got home courtesy of Brookes recovery so at least now I know the funny noise was indeed........
........my alternator belt.
I made it nerly home until it all went tits up at Clevedon when I lost everything incl most of the braking (servos) so had to be recovered the remaining 3 miles.
Now just to check why it went in the first place.
Also sorry Vix, that hill wasnt very nice. Most of the roads had a lot of debris on them.
great day out & not a spot of rain\\:D/

Was good to catch up with you peeps in Nam at the Lysley Arms and catch up with Viper too. Enjoyed a bit of a casual amble with a little blat round the Brizzle ringroad.
Speak for yourself
:laughat:, nevermind Doc, had a great first ride with the SVers. Must have been a bad omen, my first ride out with you guys and you breakdown
the white rabbit
28-05-07, 08:11 PM
I didnt strictly breakdown. I took the chance to see if I could get home with limited electricity and failed
I'm glad you sorted yourselves out though when you followed me and I was heading home
I got to Clevedon and then it told me my rear light was gone, then everyhting possible started flashing, the whole display went, then I 'realised' at the Tesco's roundabout that my servos had gone so I had about half the brakes, and then the fuel died right opposite the Old Inn on the Portishead road. So I parked up in the car park rang the recovery and had a pint . 3 miles from home
But home before you lot :-dd
In bits now waiting for new belt. Some grit in there so hopefully not a pulley or anything too.
Still sounds like a tiny little breakdown to me .. I got blumin soaked pasted cheddar on way home, stayed dry for us though so can't complain!!

Yes a nice little bimble. And thankfully the weather held for the most part.
Good to meet a few new faces (and some old).
Shame about the bike Doc, is this another opportunity for a legendary MoFo engine extravaganza?
