Hi guys i know how to fit the exhaust ie. where to cut. But i did see something the other day about messing with other settings. Might've just been me  Is it just a straight swap or is there other stuff that needs doing? Anyone bought one new for more than £110?
Cheers

I've got a FUEL - it's only the budget one with removable baffle. So far it hasn't needed any re mapping etc, it seem to work perfectly well. It sorts out that "dip" in power around the 6,000 rpm mark, and I've revved it up beyond the redline (just) when accellerating hard, where as before you could feel the power die off just after 9,000 rpm with the standard can.
Oh yes, the wife also has one on her Fazer 600, she's aslo happy with it.
Hope that helps.

Ok sounds good to me, u say it has an effect on power. Does that mean i can't fit it to mine due to the 33bhp restriction

The effect will be minimal tbh....

With mine it has helped the engine breath more easily, so where there was a dip in power before there isn't now, and helps it climb right to the top of the rev range.
I would imagine that with a restrictor kit you might not notice the extra 3 to 5 bhp that I think I'm getting as your restrictor kit is holding you to 33bhp before the escaping gases pass through the race can, but my extent of technical know how goes as far as "this is where the petrol goes", so maybe best to ask someone with "technical know how".

Stop me if I'm wrong but I thought you would gain, perhaps, 0.5 to 1 bhp from a bolt on can...and that's on a good day.

I bought one new. Fitted it to my SV, very easy when following instructions on here. sounded great !!! and looks cool. Sold SV for the dark side and the fuel is now fitted to new bike and that too sounds awesome. Unfortunately the baffle was not compatible with either bike ;)

You're quite right, the power claims made for many exhausts are just laughable.
It won't affect a 33bhp restricted bike as the restriction affects the intake, be it carb alterations or fuelling settings, not the exhaust.
As the standard exhaust can flow more gas than is needed to make 33bhp, any extra flow that a loud can might, stress might, give will make no change.
