May actualy pop over to Bristol Kawasaki myself to0day, as M&P's price for bike is £6995... so no point me going there then....

whats the diferance between

P7F
&
B1H

valleyboy
27-05-07, 05:15 PM
P7F = 2007 model, it has the 599cc engine in it instead of the 636 of the B1H... and it bloody well handles better than mine.... lol

B1H was the 636 engine... so had an incy bit more torque... but nothing major that I could sense on the test ride...

which may I add, I got uterly lost off the ring road.... and had the fuel light start flashing at me as well.... but took it round a few roundabouts, and gave it a bit of welly on the straights to see what it could do.. nothing excessive... but power delivery is pretty much same as mine, but as previous, more flickable... and this bike will have bugger all mileage on it when I collect it ;) and I'll try and refrain from dissassembling it within a few minutes of ownership, other than placing after market components on it such as a tail tidy...

Nice one VB, now don't take this one to bits ;)

Have fun running it in, book it in for the first service quickly as the service shops this time of year are really busy.

valleyboy

I dont see me racking up the miles that quickly on this one :smt119

Dont need to commute anywhere by bike anymore... so can just use it as a play thing... I dont intend to take it appart for a while yet.. cant get the workshop manual for it yet ;) want to get R&G crash bungs for it.. but it requires cutting chunks out of fairing to put them on..

Beenz
28-05-07, 11:05 AM
So your new bike will look the same as err... your old bike but wobbles round the bends better ;)

Didn't you know orange is the new green?

It really does need that tail tidy though. Congrats on the purchase.

valleyboy
28-05-07, 11:59 AM
well, personaly I think it looks better than my current bike.. hehehe

yeah, does look like it needs a tail tidy.. but some incorporate a new tail light as well.. as the current ones about as wide as the bike itself! so doing research on those, and huggers (sadly they dont come as standard on these :( ) and looking at screens..... but for now, I will be taking all the little bits off my bike to sell, should get a few quid out of the bits...
R&G tail tidy, Power Commander are specific to my bike...

But My Remus will fit an SV650.. and I still have the link pipe for it as well.. so can sell that on here...

must not forget to take out scottoiler as well! they aint having that as a freebee!

Looking forward to picking it up now :D then I will be taking a pillion out on sunday with a 4000 rpm limit... oh dear, I dont see me going fast anywhere lol

:smt119 Will it even move with two bods and a 4K limit? Run in limit will be higher than that surely.

valleyboy

Going from whats in my current bikes book... 4000 rpm for first 500 miles, then 6000rpm up to 1000 miles...

should have bought a honda me thinks.. been told that had a limit up to 200 miles, then do what you want afterwards.... do'h!

You'll be the slowest 600 in the West. ;)

Did you take the ZX10 out for a spin as well?

Personally I'd have preferred the Gixer (in red n white) over the new Honda (but then I would), a lot cheaper and just as capable in the real world with cheap insurance. Did you get the 0% finance?

valleyboy
28-05-07, 02:27 PM
Yes, that was the clincher really, took the 0% finance on offer.. then had to ask just before I signed about payment protection.. so they had to re-do all the paper work then.. lol

Didnt take the ZX-10 out.... I made a concious decision not to go for the ZX-10.... I dont think Im up to riding a bike of that much power yet.... still have a few things to learn on the 600's.... plus I think the back end of the ZX-10 looks butt ugly... if I were to go for the ZX-10, it would have been the 04-05 model...

Cheers :D

I dont intend to screw this bike up, and bounce it off the rev limiter as much as Ive done with my current one... rev limiters at 20,000 rpm on this.... its going to sound like death on wheels once I find an aftermarket can for it :D

going to glue my thumbs together so I cant take it appart either hehehe

Nice one Gareth, I guess it had to be green to match the leathers. Cant you get the dealer to fit the crash bungs?

Like that :D

Think you need to write the img bits out first and then paste the link in, if you paste the link in first so it auto underlines then the forum software auto treats it as a hyperlink rather than an image. When you're typing it out you don't want auto blue/underline to appear.

OK thanks, sorry for the derail, back on topic I thought they didn't actually rev any higher than anyother 600, so about 16,500?

In the May issue they had the 600's test. with the clocks photographed.

Triumph - highest number 16, redline at 14
Suzuki - highest num 18, redline at 16
Yamaha - hi num 20, redline at 17.5 (not really true!)
Kwak - 20, redline 16.5
Honda - 17 redline at 15

As for crash bungs.. not made up my mind with them yet.. I dont want to cut the fairing to fit them.. maybe if I can find a spare fairing somewhere!!

already found lots of bits for it.... next pay day my shopping will include a hugger, and an aftermarket screen.. as the one on there is little more than a joke... and sometime down the line, a power commander may make an appearance... as well as a fruity can.. and oooppss, how did that baffle fall out!

Tail tidy just has to be the number one priority, that back end is well fugly standard.

valleyboy
30-05-07, 08:32 PM
Kawasaki tail tidy = £92 but it changes the rear light as well... Im sure R&G do a tail tidy for £50ish quid that has a new rear light unit as well.. but that comes with a safety warning about having the number plate make contact with the rear wheel under certain conditions of riding!

I have my shopping list for it already... its a matter of saving a few quid for it now... in the meantime, I still will have to ride the engine in at slow speeds :( lol

The standard R&G tail tidies are close to £50 with the number plate light, if you get the tail light as well that sounds like a bargain to me. Don't take any fat b'stards on the back (like me) and the plate will be fine, a smaller one would be even better. If only that zorst was routed correctly ;)

Checkout the Evotech jobbies as well.
