For sale we have the engine from my curvy which i crashed. The bike was written off as a cat C (uneconomical to repair) and i have decided to break it. Most of it has gone and i have managed to get the engine out of it now.

The engine has done 17854 as can been seen in the pic bellow. I dont have the clocks which go with it anymore because I sold them.

I dont have a camera at the moment but will do on tuesday so will have pics for you up then. It is in totally standard condition and was a very good engine when it was in the bike. It always started first touch of the button and never gave me any problems even in the coldest of snowy weather. It comes with all the mounting bolts and screws and bits that came off with it. It doesnt have any oil in it as the haynes manual said to drain that before removing the engine. It will need a new oil filter as the on it at the moment has a small dent in it and I dont know how old it is but if you are putting in a new engine then i would expect you to change this anyway. It comes with all the electrics that are attached to the engine and all the clips on the end of the wires are intact (i really know nothing about electrics though). Also it still has the gear box on and im not even going to attempt to get that off.

It does not include the carbs but i do have them for sale as well as the radiator system with all hoses.

I am looking at offers in excess of £300 and the engine is located in Chesham Bois in Buckinghamshire. Collection is prefered as is cash over paypal but i can post if someone tells me who to post it with allthough looking at ebay thats going to cost a lot - around £50. If someone wants to pay via paypal i would ask you to add 3% to cover the cost of the fees. I dont mind loosing a couple of quid on small items but this is quite expesive and i dont want paypal eating all my money.

i think this is a fair price as a quick look on ebay had them between £400 and £575!!!

i am selling so i can fund the purchase of a tl1000s (a bigger meaner curvy) and get rid of the triumph bonneville which i am riding at the moment (which is horrible).

If you are interested please email me at fat_brstd@yahoo.com or pm me and i will be more than happy to answer any questions about it that you may have.

cheers guys.

To be honest with you mate I would prefer it if I could get over 300 for it. I dont have to sell it asap and it is a very solid lump. Personally I wouldnt bother swapping your top end onto it I would just drop it in as a whole lump but then im lazy and if you spent money on the top end then you probably want to get your moneys worth from it. If your going to transplant the top end after you put yours in you could always sell mine after you put yours in to recoup some money.
