yep, the clutch cable is still on there and functioning, I took it out for a spin after a push start and it worked fine, the fuses's arn't blown, and the battery is good, like i said it functions normally, just won't fire when i push the ignition switch. but will start and run fine with a push start

not the clutch cable, its a little connector that clips underneth the lever, make sure its on & clean.

failing that im not sure, could me a dodgy ignition switch ?

best wait for sombody with a bit more knowlage (have you done a search? )

Did you figure out the problem. Also you might want to clean out the air filter. When you dropped the bike oil comes up tot eh air box. If you start it there will be smoke from oil and will take some time to bun it off. The best thing would be to use something like simple green which is an all around cleaner to clean out the air box so no oil gets back into the the carbs.
in terms of the starting issue make sure nothing got bend or out f place. The one thing to check that many people miss is the kick stand relay. if that is bent or dammaged the bike will not start due to it being a cut off switch when the stand is down unless the bike is in neutral. Let me know how it fairs.
