Yes. Got rid of an old trunk which had been in my garage within an hour on Saturday. The groups I've subscribed to generate a large volume of traffic. Most gets deleted without reading. Cat litter, baby clothes, old monitors, bricks, all sorts of crap.

no, save dumping stuff, advertise it on freecycle for free and someone will come and collect it from you.

might stick the wife on :)
Yeah I've been on freecycle a year or so now. Several groups. Picked some stuff up. Realised I was starting to collect random tat and so backed off a bit. My freecycle subscriptions put me as #1 receiver of email by volume in my company. Good think I'm the one that generates the stats :-)

Had a friend who had an old computer monitor (15") that he couldn't get rid of, not even on freecycle.
So he stuck it out on the pavement to take to the tip later that day.
15 minutes later its gone.
And thus, Chavcycle was born.......

Nah, that's when they take the stuff from outside your house that wasn't going to be taken to the tip.... (see 'my lovely flowerpots')
Yep I know someone who put a cooker out on the pavement to be collected by the council... dissapeared before they got round to organising it.

That's just theiving scum.
Fine line between the two I admit.

I've been on freecycle for awhile. Got rid of monitors, computers, furniture and other stuff. Got a gazebo last summer for a party then freecycled it back when I needed the space for a greenhouse. :)

Nothing goes to landfill...
I've noticed our Glasgow freecycle group has started to get very picky lately. Anything listed as 'faded' or 'scuffed' or whatever doesn't get a sniff, I mean it's free for f*ck's sake!
And the no shows drive me nuts :driving: Why not take 10 seconds to email and say you're not coming? You were quick enough to email and say gimme gimme gimme weren't you?
But, on the whole, a good thing we use a lot! :)
Freecycle's brilliant. I've managed to clear the garden and shed of all the stuff that I'd be ashamed to put on Ebay, in return I've picked up some really useful stuff like tools and computer bits, and a really nice Ford Fiesta for my middle daughter.
One of my kid's friends has just moved into her own place for the first time, and has virtually kitted it right out with stuff blagged on Freecycle. People gave away a 2 yr old widescreen TV, 1 yr old fridge/freezer, good washing machine etc. It took us a whole day of driving round Bedfordshire with a Transit van to pick it all up.

I got rid of a whole load of stuff on Freecycle, including an old TV that had been in a cupboard for years. Then two days later, a friend mentions that she's after a TV. Oh well.
Maybe we should do this with bike bits - Motor-Cycle? I've got some motrax led indicators, a K3 belly pan (very slight damage) and a scorpion pipe that I don't need, though I'd prefer some cash for them.

Most of the stuff I've Freecycled has been gone within 24 hours.

I'm a member locally & got rid of a load of crap on there...
Great idea IMHO... Much better than land fill if someone else can use it :!:
