Ever since seeing greenlaner's white curvy in the photos section, I'm thinking white could be the new yellow :) Saves money on the paint job :)

Yes I would. They look really good. Just been looking and at about £368 not including P&P, that's about what a set of Suzuki lowers are. How much is a pint job likely to set you back?

lylej that fairing looks way better than the s model pointy with lowers, its like having the lowers but without that horrid join where they butt together just under the indys. friend of mine had his firestorm done by dream machine years ago, quality company, quality paint, very prof job. :)

I wouldn't trust Dream Machine to paint my garage door. There are numerous documented reports of their screw ups, one from me. 3 times it took them to paint a fuel tank correctly, two of those were when they sent it back the wrong colour, including one time when I sent a sidepanel to match the colour I wanted, and they sent the sidepanel back painted to match the incorrect colour they'd done the tank. To say I was furious doesn't come close, needless to say they never got paid.

Utter incompetent muppets - avoid them like the plague.

Ahem.....

Co-incidentally I know someone who at this moment in time is going through pretty much what Lozzo has just described. Taken them months to even get to the point of sorting it out. Not the first co mplaint I've heard first hand from people either.

I haven't used them so only going by what people have said to me. I'm sure plenty of others are happy with their work though

A thumds down for Dream machine here too. A guy we know from another forum sent his bike in to them to be painted. He even sent complete designs of what he wanted too. Went to collect the bike, and it was nothing like his designs, even the colours were totally different. Their response? 'We thought this looked better'!

Whatever happened to 'the customer is always right?'

Needless to say, they didn't get paid, and he had his bike done the way he wanted elsewhere.

some very bad reports on dream machine, i was going back 10 years when i had good reports of them, gone down the pan me thinks.

I think the problem is they got too popular for their ability to cope. We've been told that they sub-contract a lot of their work out to other sprayers, and of course, you can't guarantee how good that work will be:(

I've got a local bodyshop who does all my bike paintwork nowadays, he does exactly what I want, on time and to a great standard. First he lets me loose with the paint chips so I can choose the colours, I do a rough drawing of the design I want, showing what colour goes where, and away he goes.

Again not used Dream Machine but have heard bad things from other forums and from some in the trade. When I was looking at getting a bike sprayed I talked to a small car shop, they would do all the panels and tank in a single color. I could then come in put any decals I liked on (as they didn't want the responsibility for that) and then they would lacker it. All for c. £200 cash. Unfortunately I lost most of the plastics before I could take them up on the offer...

As for the body work I think it looks good. But as its a 2 piece just remember should the worst happen it could get as expensive as OE parts to put right.

If it's fibreglass it'll be easier to repair than plastics, that's why we use f/glass fairing and seat unit on the race bike, and my SV trackbike will getting some soon. I've found f/glass fairings to be stronger and withstand crash damage better than original plastics anyway.

Do 2wheeljunkies do a full fairing for the SV without the headlight and inicator mountings/holes? That one looks good aside from the h/light holes.

Not tried it yet but I hear that fibreglass does crash better, I was refering more to the cost of paint etc.

And yes 2wheeljunkies do race fairings for the SV. I think JHS Racing import these.

Thanks for that. There's always the Gixer K5 fairing/K4 seat option, that looks good and fairings/seats are available on ebay dirt cheap from Germany. A mate uses the German ones on his Ducati 600 Desmodue race bikes, he really rates them for race/trackday use.

Whatever fairing/seat mine gets it'll just be painted straight plain silver by my bodyshop owning mate, I need a dent in the tank sorting too. Graphics can be done by the sign shop 50 yards from my house, he fits them as well.

Did they make a good job of matching the side panel to the tank???
Sounds like they might be able to do a whole bike at once then ?

They're legendary for that... One of the oldskool guys gave them his Spondon with the instruction that it was to be high gloss solid black and yellow in a half-and-half. It comes back metallic yellow and metallic purple, with a skull painted on each side of the tank. "Mean looking bike like this, shame to make it so drab". How we laughed.

They do some lovely work, mind... When they get it right the paint quality can be very good.

I'm getting the 2 wheel junkies bodywork fitted at the moment (amongst other tweeks) and was thinking of getting Dream Machine to paint it. Not so sure now.
Anyone recommend anyone in the Colchester/Ipswich area.
I'm just thinking of gloss black all over, might look cool  , might look boring:( , again any thoughts ?

i agree with whats been said, they did used to knock out some really good stuff but seem to have gone down hill. Not used them myselfso it's only what ive heard did know someone who sent all the panels for thir new firestorm off to dream machine for a repsol paint job. They then sent them back cos the colours didn't match between the panels. then sent them back again as none of the lines of the design joined up where they should have

i think it took him about 4 atempts to get the paint job he'd asked for

I've gone for these guys to paint it http://www.sudden-impactuk.com/
A tiny bit more expensive than Dream Machine but hopefully without the worries.
I've not seen the bike yet as they picked it up from the garage where the fairing was fitted along with the exhaust, shock, etc, etc.

So I'm in for a surprise when it gets back to me  .
Lets hope it's a good one !

Got it back now, very pleased with it.
Just need some good weather to take her out now :)

Apologies for the misting on the photos, my 18 month old daughter had got to the camera before me.

Have to say it looks very good.

Is it me or does the gap look slightly too big between the front wheel and fairing.

Either way I like it and it is an improvment.

That side on photo isn't great to be honest, makes the bike look like it's pointing up at the front as well. Looks much better in the flesh.
