I take it you guys will be coming in on the A415. If so, bare in mind that the bit from Abbingdon to Berinsfield (where Fox's is) is mostly 30mph. Ridiculous I know as there are stretches with no houses etc but just watch your backs on that bit..
.
I'll be back in the country by then so i might join you too, theres a great route from Swindon, through highworth, faringdon, pick up the 420, done it a few times, after fox's usually head down the A4074 (great sweeping bends and twisties) to Benson,Stick with the 4074 into Reading, along the M4 for 1 junction, get off at J12 Theale, then have a spirited amble back along the A4 through Newbury, Hungerford, Marlborough. :D
I too will also let you know nearer the time

yep ill be going from the nam, havent decided on a route yet!! but you are more than welcome to join me on the ride over, as is anyone else.
like you say just keep me posted on your plans.

Hmmm, may well be up for this one. I'll see if I can convince the missus to come, otherwise I'll sulk for a bit and come on my own :) Though if it's ****ing it down I'll probably skip - fair weather namby pamby and all that :)
Not been down there before but looks simple (A40 to Witney, then 415 all the way down), so if you see a blond midget on a red pointy give us a wave. And if you see a red pointy on a blond midget call an ambulance...
If the weather is forcast for heavy rain i dont think i will go either, unless i have to go out on the bike in the rain i dont . getting wet cold and not being able to give as much open throttle takes the fun out of it for me really.
oh yeah Beenz i think isaw you today, well you passed me . I am sure it was Triunph and you wnet past me in my car about 5.10 pm just before the Ford esses going in the Bristol direction?
Yup, that was indeed me. I was following Triumphumphumph on his T955i. We were taking it easy as he's still scrubbing in a new rear boot. It was a tad more 'spirited' on the way home. Went from the 420 to the A46 North then the 433 to Tetbury (lots of this has now been reduced to 50 limit). Was pondering coming back via Malmesbury but decided against it as it's very slow at that time on a Friday.
See you a week Sunday all being well.
See you a week Sunday all being well.
yep you will, still i have not thought of a decent route yet. where do you want to meet if we ride out from nam?
Me and mrs (Kamakazy) may be up for it subject to good weather, sedated kids etc. Could meet at Morrisons Car Park take road through Lynham drop down to A4 to Hungerford then northish to final destination? or meet at Lysley (?) Arms on A4 and proceed from there?
Will have to reserve final decision of attendance, like Beenz et al!
either or, takeyour pick, i do like the road to lyneham though, we could do one way out the other back?

Anything I know about? :smt002
Sunday eh?
OK, decision has been made, I will be going.
I guess it should take less than an hour n a half to get there so how does leaving Nam Morrisons petrol station Cepen Park North sound at 10:30?
(my preferred stop as I need fuel)
OR
The Plough where I spoke to you last on the A350.
OK, following an odd chat with the Stretchie one formerly known as Ol Four Wheels, we'll meet at the little chef in Chippenham. From Brizzle that should take about 50 mins easy riding.
From the M4 J17 from Brizzle, turn right (third exit) to Chippenham on the A350. Head down the dual carriageway past the traffic lights (road turns single lane) to the roundabout and take the third exit to the petrol station/ little chef/Burger king here.

Leave Nam at 10:30.
Proposed route is A4 West from Calne then North on A43 follow signs to Abingdon. Check the link on the first post for the exact location of Foxs' Diner.

It's on the junction of the A415 and A4074.
Neo, Stretchie, Beenz and of course the good lady Kaz, great ride out good company cheers. :p
Stretchie sorry bout the bike, hope to hear some good news soon. #-o
A cracking rideout, some spirited riders and good company.
Unfortunately the gearbox gremlin struck again on Stetchies bike so hope you get it sorted soon mate.
Anyway, the pointies were out in force (the fastest being the Red One, third one in. I really hope her new owner looks after her and joins this forum) :

Don't worry Neio79, no one noticed the rad cover upside down.
Forgot to mention an enjoyable ride back from Marborough to Avebury with Triumphumphumph to catch up the rest of the bunch (who were with Stretchie in Marlborough)

Sorry we kind of dumped you there Stretchie. I did do a full circuit of the Marlborough roads but amazingly I didn't see you lot and it seems you didn't see my ride past either!:( beenz and I thought you must have taken the town centre route so were ahead of us. That just meant we had to ride double quick to catch you. Wicked - pity it was the wrong assumption:oops:
Go for the blade - hell the expense ;)

Lots of peeps at Glasonbury are really chuffed you got the new bike ;) Photo's of the new resident needed in the photo section.
Another blat to Fox's would be an ideal run for the bike with many different road types.

Hey guys, I don't frequent this section much, but I noticed Abingdon mentioned. I always thought I was supposed to be part of the Midlands crowd (live in Oxford), but if anyone heads out to Fox's diner again I wanna come and meet up so let me know!

Keep an eye on the Guildford section too, sometimes they head left a bit and come Oxfordshire way :D You're kinda in the middle between three there. I'm only 50 miles left of you in Chelt if you fancy a spin in the meantime.
Oh, and +1 to Foxes Reunited too :D Been down there a couple of times since discovering it with "Teh bOrg" - it's my new matlock bath :D

I had dinner in the Daffodil in Cheltenham a few weeks ago. Maybe we could meet up somewhere in between then, I am not sure of any nice roads there yet, as my Oxford biking chum has got a bust regulator on his Guzzi and the Eyetie's are taking ages to send him a replacement. I was going to suggest this weekend but I think the forecast says rain...
Still, Fox's is a great idea, lets all do it again one day soon, I am getting an itchy throttle hand! Send me a PM or something, cos I keep forgetting to check this section.
We'd be up for another Fox's meet, as long as it's not on a day we're already doing something.:D
Come on then...................let's start picking dates;)

I just met with Philbut last night in a pub on Oxford, bloody nice bloke. We should certainly organise a rideout agian, but I wouldn't mind it if it was done when the sun is shining rather than during a tsunami!

Am up for meeting at Fox's diner - not been there before or met anyone from this site either.
Anyone from North Central London going? I have an aptitude for getting lost and may turn up at 12 on Monday instead :D unless I have the luck of a guide!

I dunno about anyone from London, but if we go, I'll drop you a PM too, and I'll have a mobile on me incase you get lost! Shouldn't be too hard I hope! Me and Phil could possibly scout out a nice run for south of Oxford which would be achievable for Norf Laandaners aswell

I could be up for it this weekend BUT...... It will have to be Saturday, as I'm off to the Uxbridge Motor Show on Sunday (cars & bikes generally).
So, if anyone fancies Saturday, let me know...
lib-biker, where abouts are you based ? I'm near Uxbridge so could meet you somewhere on route... (or is that "en route" ?)
We can then take a run over to "On Yer Bike" in Aylesbury

Philbut and I were out just now, found a good road from Thame to Bicester, which I notice is near Aylesbury. Unfortunately this weekend I have to go to Wales so I can't make it, but any other weekend should be good.

B4011 ??
If you're out that way during the week, drop in to "On Yer Bike", on the A41 West of Aylesbury, then you can make your way to Thame and pick up the A329 down to Fox's...
Good road that.

Fox's sounds good. I'd be up for doing Saturday (provided i can get permission from "er in doors"). On yer bike might be good too, although I always end up nearly buying a bike when i go. Surely i wont miss another 3 grand..... well may be not, I can always dream!
Fox's is pretty easy to find from Norf London. Just get onto the M25 and head west, then onto the M40 - A40. At oxford follow the ring road South (you'll know you're going the right way if you go past the big BMW factory where all the minis are born) until you reach Sainsburys . Its next to a big island. Take a left towards Reading an you'll find Fox's a few miles down that road.
Phil
PS watch out for the gravel - warthog knows what I mean, that could have been messy!

Yeah the B4011, that was it! Awesome road (I think, I was blindly following Phil :) ). My mate with a large Guzzi lives in Greater Hasely just off the A329, he would be up for things in the future. As Phil said as a word of warning, the A4074 from Fox's to Shillingford has been ripped up and is 100% gravel; bit of a shock after flying past Fox's!

That's blasphemy that is....
Right... Try this, it's easy peasy....
M40 to J2
Turn North (right) onto A355, follow along dual carriage way and left at roundabout towards Beaconsfield
Keep in the right hand lane and follow the signs for Amersham
Right at the mini roundabout and follow until you reach the roundabout at the bottom of the hill
Turn left (A413) then right at the next roundabout and follow to Aylesbury.
In Aylesbury follow signs "A418" & "Thame"
Keep on 418 through Thame until you reach the A329
Just stay on the 329, over the M40
Watch the bit by the petrol station, the road naturally goes right, but the 329 goes left
Stay on that road and it brings you to the A4074 at Shillingford.
Turn right up to Fox's....That's far better than your route..... (But you can access the 329 from J7 of the M40)
The A329 is pretty twisty in places, a couple of the right handers tighten up on you.
There is a lay by just off of J2 of the M40, on the 355. I can meet you there if you want, about 10am ??
