Yes they are bit wobbly aren't they?

As long as their securings are err... secure, then everything is OK.

Uh..do they look like this? (I've pulled the black rubber dust boots back in this photo to show the adjusters inside them.)

If so, they can, and should, be adjusted.

The nut in the middle of each one is the locking nut, loosen it. Then unscrew the the other two to make the throttle cables tighter. Then, tighten up the locking nuts again.

The purpose of these two adjusters is to take all the slop out of the throttle grip. I adjust the pull cable first, making the adjuster longer until I can feel the throttles opening with just the slightest pressure on the grip. Next I adjust the return cable adjuster to take any wiggle room out of the throttle grip.

Last, check and make sure the throttle will snap shut when you let go of the grip. (You can get the cables so tight that the springs on the throttle body can't close the throttle on it's own. Check it with the bars against the stops on either side!

I think you'll like the feel of the throttle with the cables properly adjusted. Nice and crisp with good feedback to your hand.

There is also an adjustment on the clutch cable that works the same way, only the clutch is just a pull cable (no second return cable). It can, and should, have the slack taken out of it as well. Again, don't get it too tight, or you'll be taking off pressure from the clutch plates.

thanks for the info...;) its not the adjuster nuts but above them...the cable runs into a metal tube and this is the bit that seems loose...? sorry, got no idea how to put pics on here...:safe: !!!
