Are curvy & pointy chain guards interchangeable>?

I'm after a metal chain guard but the ones on ebay are over £40. Whereas the banditmania ones are only £25 and IMO look better.
Problem is, banditmania (http://www.banditmania.co.uk/cooler_covers_&_chainguards.htm) say it is only for the curvy.:(
But the listing on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUZUKI-SV650-SV650S-SATIN-CHAIN-GUARD-SV-650-CHAINGUARD_W0QQitemZ120126111298QQihZ002QQcategory Z10534QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) says that it will fit "SV-650 including 'S' Models from 1999 to 2005 inclusive":-k
