View Full Version : Tiscalli Phone and Broadband for £19.99 /month
Anyone know the catch? They're offering Line Rental, Unlimited Broadband and Unlimited Local/National calls all for £19.99 a month....seems too good to be true.:D
i think its landline calls only
Yeah its for 01 and 02 numbers only, but it still seems cheap for both broadband and phone when you consider BT charge about £11 just for line rental then another £18 or so on top for broadband.

The catch is it's Tiscali. TalkTalk do a similar deal and seem to have sorted themselves out. Tiscali are still a mess.

the catch? you have to be with tiscali...
seriously though, their "unlimited" broadband is nothing of the sort, it'll be subject to a "fair use policy" which is essentially a cap in disguise, download too much and they bitch at you and tell you to not download during peak hours, if you comply they still moan then threaten to cut you off. then you tell them where to cram it and migrate to AOL and enjoy the unlimited service you paid for...
or at least that was my experience:rolleyes:
in summary, tiscali = bad, AOL = good
yes, i know, even i was surprised:grin:

if you've not had problems you've not had to deal with their "customer services" department then;) - rude, inept and incomprehensible are several words that spring instantly to mind...
if you just check your emails every now and again, or surf on a sunday afternoon then they love you, but if you try and actually use their "unlimited" service, not even blitz it 24/7 but download an album or film every now and again and visit high bandwidth sites, you might well have issues, we have 4-5 computers networked to one connection in our house so we probably count as "high end users" - afaik AOL is one of only a few ISPs now that doesn't restrict people who like to make the most of their internet
i don't think i'd go back to tiscali if they were giving BB away for nothing:eek:
