I used to play Lara Croft on PS back in the day but find it dull compared to other games around nowadays.
Of course i can see why Blue is so keen to play it....gaming fun and sexual gratification in one methinks :)
saw it in Asda for about 22 quid on Monday for the ps2

I've been playing with Lara this past hour ... :smt054 :smt043
My initial reactions ...
Yet again they have tried to get too fancy with the physics and Lara's movements/skills. This makes her really hard to control!! WHY DO THEY DO THIS??!?! :smt091 :smt011
It does look pretty though :-D

What I've seen/played of it, it's a remake of the original and best Tomb Raider. Loads of similarities and trips down memory land! Fantastic stuff. Until you meet the centaurs. All I can say is...Good Luck!

I have been playing with Lara far to much this weekend  ... my plans for the weekend had fallen though ... so I had a good opportunity to get stuck in to Lara
I am a fair way through it now (last level) and as thedonal said, a trip down memory lane at times 8)
I still think the game is to bias toward 'moves' and sequences of moves/timing ... which I hate ... I like puzzle solving/working stuff out ... I found most of the game I was just fighting with the controller ... and where you can't choose where to save (only at checkpoints) doing the same stuff over and over until I could get the final move/moves ... I don't find that fun ... and there are some really OTT moves you have to make ... I am so glad I bought a gamepad ...
Its better than 'Legend' and many of the other incarnations (>=TR3), but I still prefer the original TR and TR2 ... even thought the graphics are inferior by todays standards, the gameplay was superb ...

Yeah- it was the exploration and puzzle solving that really made the first game. Even TR 2 was a bit too much of a shoot-em-up.
It was nice to see they kept so much- like in St Francis' Folly- the broken column between all of the doors (poseidon etc). That gave me huge vertigo back in the original...

I loved St Francis Folly first time round 8) 8) also 'The Cistern' :)
Indeed 'Puzzles and Exploration' is what made TR1 so cool ... when you entered a new area, you knew by the time you left, you would have explored EVERYWHERE 8)
Also in TR1 just the sheer 'size' of everywhere was breathtaking (I suppose we were talking 10years ago and it was a first) ... its just not as 'magnificent' in TRA ... like the Colosseum ... in TR1 you could barely see the far side of it on the screen ... in TRA it is just a little circle compared
TRA is also to 'dark' ... they have gone OTT with the accuracy of the lighting and taken something away in doing so ... i.e. you can't see what you are doing half the time

You can adjust the contrast and brightness of the game and it looks perfect on my tv
