I quite like the naked SVs but they're alot less common than the S models. has anyone removed the fairing? just wondering if its a simple(ish) job to do.
cheers
it can be done,(do a serch) but IMO its not worth the hassle as the clocks are built into the fairings plus other things

does that mean its just a case of unscrewing the fairing frm the frame, and then detaching all the locks/lights and reconnecting the wires to new clocks/lights?
Ask TSM.

theres nowhere to bolt the clocks, if you want a nakid, best get one in the firsrt place, there is loads about, i would not say the S is a lot more popular?
i knew it had been done , but could not remember by who

you need a nekkid speedo bracket and headlight and bracket, if you leave the top yolk and clipons on then its quite easy but if you want to change the top yolk and put renthals on or something on it will get expencive.

also nekkid forks are softer than the s model so i'd be inclined to leave the forks and clipons and just change the speedo and headlight. you could flog the fairing, screen, fairing bracket, chin fairing, clock surround, headlights on ebay, this would pay for the job and leave you some change:)
I've done it to, its easier to sell the S and buy a N but it can be done.
Lot of work including a few bits you don't think of, also depends on whether you stick with the clipons or go for renthal style bars.
You need to remove and cut one of the fairing mounting brackets, option to cut off the mounting hole on the rad, replace the headlight and clocks plus get the mounting braket, and swap the yokes for N model removing the ignition and refitting. Then your need longer clutch and throttle cables but the choke can be re-routed. I'm sure there is more but I can't remember it all.
