one on the way to work guy on a cb250 lying in the road, paramedics, police and 2 cars there, he looked ok just abit shocked.
one on the way home from work, scooter pulled across a staggered junction and just spun it in the road:confused: seemed like the stand dug in or something? no cars involved.
i got home and told the wife about this and her friends cousin got killed in wolverhampton on thursday night, car hit the back of him at temp traffic lights:(
RIP to him.
there's no good or bad ways of going, hell they're all bad, but to be sat at some lights and get rear ended is just shocking. poor lad RIP

a friend of mine was shunted from behind, waiting to join a roundabout, guy just drove into her and pushed her and bike into the flow of traffic, dropped the bike but no injuries thankfully. i can't believe that people fail to see the lights, especially on the newer model. i make a point, if i'm waiting in traffic with no one behind me, of stepping on the brake to make the brake lights flash if i see someone coming up from behind, and be ready to jump if needs be...

Don't do that, your lights might be dazzling someone trying to filter by...

Same thing happened to me a while back, I was lucky not to get squished by a van coming the other way. Bloody boy racers. :smt068

sorry, it's hot in the office and i'm not 100% with it - was that a jab aimed at me? if there's a good reason not to do what i'm doing then please, feel free to impart some wisdom on me, as far as i see it i'm checking the mirrors when i'm stopped *at the back of the queue* because i don't want to get flattened so am unlikely to dazzle anyone, even with the superior brake lights found on the pointy;) most of the time i'll try to filter at least past the last few cars in the queue but sometimes you can't
but if you were reffering to a recent thread then ok, cool, i get the reference:-dd

It has always been my understanding that you should apply the rear brake when stationary at traffic lights etc. An examiner friend of mine has been rear ended more than once and it was a lot beter when he had the brake applied.
