Does any body know if there are such things as once Piece Suit for the more the ‘smaller more rotund’ hobbitesque figure 5' 6"? Or do I have to go down the 2 piece route with a good zip fastener and mix and match sizes. Quite like one of the Alpine Stars, I think its S-MOTO, 1 piece suits, Black White and KTM orange, but if I get my chest size 44/46 then I’d have to have huge ‘turn ups’ on the bottoms.:smt100 :)

Can’t really afford/justify bespoke made to measure stuff like BKS, Crowtree, Hideout etc.

By the way uncle Frodo sends his regards to anyone who knows him.;)

One possibility is getting leather off the peg, and then paying a bit extra to have them tailored to your size. Mojo's (?) in Canterbury did Samnooshka's leathers, and she had a similar problem, too much leather in the leg department. Might be worth a look.

if you're getting custom, they might do something nice in orc skin with mithril armour ;-)

Crowtrees aren't that Pricey... check out their website - there'd be a bit of a wait though....

Thanks to all.

Just been hunting round and discovered LeathertechUk.com

Suit prices look really good which leads me to ask what about the quality?

Anybody heard of these people and if so, what is the quality like??

Sosha, thanks for the Crowtree 'nudge', they are not as expensive as I thought and maybe worth a look. :-k

'Ork and mithril'... do they have an outlet store in the Shire??;) :dwarf:

Try the Berik suits, I found them to be shorter in the leg than the other manufacturers and for once the knee protectors where on the knee instead of my shins!

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DAVE EDGAR AT LEATHERTECH...!!

At the beginning of this year, me and my friends decided to purchase leathers from this company, i met with Dave at a hotel in High Wycombe (as he then currently did not have a shop, alarm bells should have rung...!) and he seemed a genuine person.
He visited my house and measured up the three of us and we parted with our cash (should have got a receipt i know), we then discussed design and colouring (letters etcetera).
I met with him over the coming weeks and we discussed progress many times over the phone - Then he disappeared...!!
We tried every way of contacting him without success, we lost all our money...!! we thought that we were the only ones, we were wrong.

At Northweld sprints in September we met another gentleman who has been similarly duped BE WARNED and tell everyone you know...!

If you know where he is let me know as i would love to have a 'CHAT' with him..!!

Regards,
Spooky :smt013

I have STILL not been able to get my money back from Dave Edgar, we have engaged local Trading Standards, but we have little hope of getting any monies back…

I have now used Manx Leathers on the Isle of Man, they make leathers for a load of ‘Stars’ including the late GREAT Joey Dunlop…

Give Leanne or John a call on 01624 862632, their website is under redesign, it is http://www.manxleathers.com/ (http://www.manxleathers.com/) however if you want to see the quality they will be at 15th Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show at Stafford next month…
The Leathers they made for me were soooo good I ordered a second set (perforated) for the hot days, they fit like a glove (as long as I don’t have too many pints or down the pies..!) and are exactly as i designed them…

If you do call them, say hi from Spooky (they know who I am), might even get a discount…??

All the best,
Spooky

I am more tghan happywith either berik and arlen ness. fantastic fit and so comfortable. They do some wild sizing. I was told i'd never get a set of arlen ness as I'm no svelt racer but arlen ness fitted wonderfully. would reccommend them to all. By the way they are made in the same factory...arlen and berik.....

I realise this is an old thread, however I do know the exact whereabouts and contact details of 'Dave Edgar' which as you know is not his correct name.
If you would like to P.M. me I will give you all his details.
