View Full Version : Are you an Internet addict?
As defined by wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_addiction).
How much time a day are you logged on?
If you're away from the internet do you feel anxious?
I'm currently addicted to my internet addiction online support group...

Possibly. Probably :( Imagine the scene - it's tipping it down with rain one weekend. The power goes out. Now what? No TV, no computer. Jeez, that mean we have to talk to eachother? Without MSN????

I dont think so. I use MSN every night for a couple of hours to talk to Maria when we're not together (i.e. at our seperate homes) - its easier for her than talkin on the phone, and we can have the webcams
Surley if i was a net addict i'd use more than 5 websites?

I've spent time on the web when I should have been riding my bike. I've put off sex, drinking and socialising to spend more time online. I'm on 7 internet forums and have more than 140, 000 posts between them all...

Some people on here have over 14000 posts just on this forum. Imagine how they'll react to sunlight when they have to go outside sometime!! :D
Sorry typo, corrected now.

my computer died on me a few weeks ago, misery sunk in almost immediately.
I am now using a 4 year old laptop which is also on it's way out.
My life is not complete because I cannot play any of my MMorpg's, or go on any decent sites. Plus downloading anything is a nightmare.
I spend a huge amount of time on-line... but then its part of the search utility for my job.

I am predisposed, since it's my job to run ~30Gbps's worth of it across EU, US & Asia

i spend alot of time online either that or asleep :)
too much time, although of late it has reduced. It usually coincides with my desire to purchase something resulting in hours & hours of research
I'm on the t'inter-web all day every day. Part of my job involves it. Wouldn't say I'm addicted though, because I love being away from the computer. At all possible opportunities my phone is switch off and I apparently drop off the face of the planet too.
For example, on the AR, I won't be contactable by anyone unless they're at the AR & talking to me face to face. Perfect.

The phrase 3-some has a whole new meaning in our house. We have 3-somes almost everynight, Mr24_7, Mrs24_7 and the laptop! Mr24_7 enjoys it but it's not as fulfilling as i had hoped a 3-some would be!(just to be clear there is nothing of a sexual nature happening with the lap top, i simply mean it comes to bed with us!) :makelurve:
I feel i am slowly loosing my boyfriend to the tin'ternet, I get a quicker response from him if I send him an email or leave a message on the forum! hehe! Although saying that, I'm at work right now and totaly abusing our internet access!! ooop!
Is there any cure for internetitus?
I tried to go 24 hours without logging on to the internetz...
Problem is all my friends are internet addicts too, so we talk on the phone kind of like this;
"Did you see the thread on...?"
"Have you seen the state of so and so and her new blog?"
"OMG, go check grabage&waffle.com, you won't believe your eyes!"
I aimed for 24 hours but only managed 18. I mean when ebay stuff arrives you have to leave feedback right?

Its a disease!! 18 hours is quite an achievment! im lucky to get Mr24_7 to get off the internet for 18 minutes!! He says it's all research! So being the wonderful girlfriend that I am, i try to take an interest, so far i've managed to use ebay to search for shoes and bags! And here I am on a motorbike forum...how good am i!?
If it's all research and you've been surfing for a few years you should be a virtual genius, just like me. Which means I'm only clever when logged on, to log off would make me dumb and just like all the rest of the sheeple. I am a mouse potato :(

So your saying the internet is the source of your umm "wisdom"!!! What happens if the connection breaks, do you automatically become thick as sh*t or is it more of a slow decline?! Maybe thats why almost every guy is attached to a computer because with out them they are week and unintelligent and don't stand a chance! Where as us women, we are born clever and use the internet purely to share our vast intelectual knowledge!
Now you accuse me of being a bloke!
No wonder I'm having a bad day...

my apologise...i feel bad now!!!:(
By the time my home broadband is sorted out on Thurs, I'll have been without for a month... *twitches*
Was off work for 2 weeks with no internet... and no tv... only dvd's. I finished the book I was reading in less than a day.
Luckily, being a web developer I have internet at work, but I can't game here... *rocks back and forth*
