I'm looking at maybe gettin a cheap banger just to get me round in wet weather and that. Not going to get rid of the bike for ****. On autotrader, put minimum as any and max as £1000, for the first five pages and a bit it is all wanted cars. Whats going on i thought autotrader was a third party for a buyer to look on.

best looking in your local fee adds paper for a run about.

Easier if you narrow down by cars - people don't put want ads for ford sierras and the like so you can filter all that out. Course it means going through half a dozen different likely makes/models. But as Kwak says, for sub £1000 bangers you're better off looking in the local rag.
EDIT: Or sort by something other than lowest to highest price, as most of the want ads are all "priced" at £1.

Might be worth having a plod around your local garages and asking if they've got any part-ex's they want rid of. Other than that, maybe a local car auction?
