View Full Version : Bike Broken
Well, got home today, parked up outside, about 30mins later someone rings my door bell saying if the bike outside is mine and that he had reversed into it. Ive gone out to find my bike on its right side, the left foot rest has been snapped off and so has the side stand frame lug, so thats a write off on the bike by insurance terms.
So ive sorted the bike so i can ride it, but i have a problem when i park up as i dont have a side stand, no problems as the right side is scuffed up im just going to park it up against the wall at work.
Im not a happy bunny.

Thats a ****ter, but on the bright side it least the bloke owned up and presumably gave you his insurance details/cash....could of been worse....little consolation i know.
Damn, that sucks :( But as ASM said, at least you got a honest guy who came to find you once he'd done the evil deed.
surely you could get a sidestand welded on for not much money ?
if not, drill a new hole somewhere for the side stand ?
or fit a centrestand to it ?

Someone else broke it, if i weald it on and park next to you and it brakes, then i will be liable for the damage. Not taking that chance.

You looked soo pi$$ed off last night (understandably) but at least the bloke had the decency to tell you!
Most would have bu99ered off without worrying about the owners costs etc!
Besides it wouldn't be a TSM bike without at least a small dent/scratch/different colour panel etc! ;)

Or fit a centrestand to it ?
Could that be an option? Does it have the lugs for one?
Just did a search and found this. http://www.triumphrat.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Forum&file=viewtopic&topic=79443&forum=26

That's awful but at least he came forward. I assume that insurance will be fine to repair/replace as he has admitted liability?
Sorry to hear about your bike, at least the guy did the decent thing although that's no consolation. Why are people so careless?!
Big huggs sweetie, tris has a welder IF you decide on welding it back on, and like its been said, wouldnt be your bike if she wasnt a liitle bit bruised and battered.xx

None for the TT600, there is hardly any mounting lugs at the bottom of the frame for it to fit, not a worrey as a wall is my bikes best freind at the moment.

Sux, but as ppl have said, at least you have his details :)
Oh and an axle stand under the peg (unless it is a 'lift up' one) or the rear swinger and leave it in gear is the way to get you out of trouble for now 8)
Also presuming it is a writeoff then you might be able to buy it back cheap, sell all the undamaged plastic and lights etc and make it into a dedicated track bike 8)
Picky when it was unlawfuly pushed to the ground.
