Following recent drama, the beautiful Ducati 749S lives again and is looking as good as ever. But alas with a heavy heart she is to be offered for sale.

I'm going to miss this bike.:(

If interested you can go see her http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa191/veetwinducati/

Darn tried to make clicky thing but did not work.

just park the 749 in your hallway it would make a nice feature.

It is a breaking of the heart to think this way but tomorrow ads will be placed on web portals saying "SE VENDE"

Ok a problem arose a little while ago which cost a centimo or 3,but the fauklt was I am convinced down to an error by a mechanic and not that of Ducati design.

I would recommend the 749S to anyone who likes to ride hard in the bends from time to time. You would not be dissapointed.

Possibly a small gap now without a bike, if I were to buy tomorrow those on my short list would be:

2006 Fireblade

KTM Duke 990

R1.

Or possibly a Honda CRF450 motocross or Yamaha WR450 motocross to convert to a Supermotarder.

But all of that would be just to bide time to see if either Honda or Aprilia do rush out a sport oriented V4 Mille next year.

I will though have some great memories of riding the 749. A taste of which can be seen on this repeated video. Cold winter day and a relatively sedate pace, but still such fun. (Sounds a bit nice also!

I'm not suprised it's up for sale. We know that Pedro has been lusting after one of these for ages:

Indeed what a fine sports machine that Suzuki is. My only doubts remain over whether I could get the most from the power and sharp handling that it offers.

Christ is this the end of a beautiful relationship?
Can't see you being bikeless for long,so how about something more suited to your real needs.
Now Rictus has a spare scooter looking for a lover.

Maybe it broke through not revving enough ;) hehe
V4 Aprilia sounds brilliant!
How about a ktm 950sm or ducati hypermotard though?

Ha not revving enough! Love it. That clip was on a bitterly cold day and I had on summer leathers and gloves! I was perished. Pity I never filmed one of our somewhat more livelier Saturday morning runs on that road where I play chase me,chase me with Gixxer 1'000s,ZX10s and R1's. Although I dont bounce of the limiter, she certainly gets the reins relaxed a whole lot more than on this vid!

The KTM is a nice bike for sure. If I were to go for that style I would opt for the Adventure and put grippy tyres on it. I love the look of the Hypermotard and was a contributor to Ducati's market research programme when they were thinking of making the bike. Could be a hoot to ride that but it would have to be a second bike if you were so fortunate.

I have this hankering for a sharp V4 for sound and handling reasons.

I popped a few ads out for the Ducati yesterday and already i am getting enquiries and not to far off the price I am looking for. Thing is, although I should be pleased to get interest so quickly, I actually feel even worse now about selling her!:(

It's getting to the .."no going back now stage" a guy is coming to see the bike on Saturday. He is bleeding me with the offer he is making and I am gutted. Just how do I force myself to enthuse about her so that he buys her? I will be singing her praises and thinking,"yeah that's true so why you f*cking selling her?":(

Sorry to hear you're selling your lovely bike :( It's always rotten to sell a bike that you loved:smt056

Well that is it, she's gone. I write with a lump in my throat....one that a nice looking wedge of euro notes does not help clear. The first to come and view(he travelled 500km to do so) bought her.

Jeez I loved that bike.:( :( :(

Indeed messing around on podium would have really played havoc with the logistics therefore I decided that today it was best avoided!;) :)

I bet it won't be long before you're on that 'Blade...

As soon as you wake up one sunny Sunday morning and hear bikes in the distance you'll be off down the dealer like a rat up a drainpipe..
