the AR route looks super, roads up there look familiar, however there appears to be a little demon I need to banish on the Leyburn to Middleham road. By the looks of the map It looks likely I'll have to tackle this.. One near head on collision made me vow never to ride that again last year,. I'm no wuss but i can still see it in my head clear as day. So if your riding with Dizzyblonde on that road please help her to ride through it. It'll make her rather nervous. Slow down, ride a bit odd, panic all that sort of stuff.
I kinda wanted to get that out of the way before I go. There thats better.

There is a great place up there called the forbidden corner, a must for trippy hippies an children
Looking forward to the weekend rather much now:D

I personally have no quarms about hanging back behind a nervous rider & ensuring they have plenty of space to feel comfortable. If I'm behind you at that point in the ride, consider it a given (so long as I notice you're uncomfortable etc).

I'm sure most others feel the same as me, nothing to worry about. Just ride the ride (including that section) for yourself, and not the bike in front. ;)

Wot Baph said
I am assuming the group will be roughly split up into groups with about the same skill levels(?) so just fit in were you feel most comfortable

I handed my other half a copy of the group ridin tips, I found on here, on saturday and highlighted the bit
Do not over take the group leader........... IF YOU WANT TO RIDE FASTER, RIDE ON YOUR OWN
The part of the ride i'm not looking forward to matthew had buggered off and left me..he had a little problem of overheating on his ypvs last year, so his excuse was ride like the clappers everywhere. and wait for me to appear over the horizon. hhhhmmm excuses.
This year on his Raptor he will behave...the boss has given him orders:smt014

Please don't anyone be concerned about the roads we plan to follow, we chose the route to be just taxing enough to be an interesting ride and no more. Do bear in mind that a group of any size, (and the bigger it gets the more so), moves slowly. The route we're taking has been specifically chosen such as to be realistic to move, potentially*, fifty plus bikes without the less experienced finding anything to concern them and thus possibly stringing out our group to an unreasonable length.

Remember this: There's no rush, no-one will get left behind, all the turns you'll need to make will be pointed out to you so there's no need to keep the rider in front in sight to stay with everyone else, and absolutely no need whatsoever to rush around either.

We want everyone to enjoy a ride with as many of our attendees as is possible, speed is most emphatically not the point of this, in fact if you're looking for a properly speedy ride this is not the event for you.

*As usual we won't really know how many will attend until the very last moment when actually leave the meeting point itself, but the last few years have been growing and last time was 60ish bikes.

just thought, i'll be on the black one up there this time. Suzy's set up for YORKSHIRE and handles her curves rather well, but shes not well so not going. black ones set up for M-ways and haven't ridden it since the jack up kit came off. Could be interesting....wonder what the higher gearing thingystuffwhatever will be like up there? I ain't going to find out if it won't stop flippin raining

not round here it ain't, Suzy beats the pants off it. Shes louder and faster. However shake a m-way at her and the black one IS faster..its not the pace of riding necessarily...its hard to describe..black ones just a bit slow to budge for our curvacious roads.. a bit chug a lug. its why i got two.
