**** that was hardcore...credit for keeping it up to the guy. I swear after he hit it a leg went flying across the screen...or was that just my imagination? I like the "dear walked off fine" comment.....did it hell :)
Never met a dear but ran over a few bunnies and had a bird hit my helmet....neither were much fun!
Jeez, I wonder what the damage to his bike was? The speedo stopped working.

Looked like a bit of fairing flying across the screen

I've hit a deer on a bike at about 60mph. Luckily it ''only" resulted in a dead deer (literally ripped in half), shredded back tyre (was nearly worn out anyway, but the resulting skid took it onto the mesh), bent rear brake lever and a 'proper' tank slapper that resulted in dents in the frame's lock stops. The weave the bike went into (particularly as the back wheel was locked due to the rear brake catching on the deer's corpse) was a bit worse than in that video, but I managed to keep it upright.
revenge?

As to the deer walking away thing. I suspect that it didn't and that the chap just put that on there to help stem the comments/criticism from the "animals can do no wrong brigade" who tried to tell me what I did (riding along at the speed limit with more than adequate stopping distance for the road I could see to be clear) was in any way wrong or that I was somehow to blame for the incident. I was honestly gobsmacked by the number of people who criticised me (not here BTW) for it, perhaps this chap predicted the response better.

Note the crap rev counter on the fz6 fazer.
you can't read it at any point in the film:roll:

It could have done...my other half was driving to work down one of the roads near the local army training area and hit a muntjac deer. He was driving a transit connect, the bumper was cracked but the point of impact was one of the reinforced bit's at the front...the plastic was badly scraped and we found splinters of bone wedged into it but the deer ran off...it's the adrenalin that keeps them going...they flee from the immediate danger and go off and die somewhere out of the way. The deer was found by a friend of ours who works on the training ground and was humanely despatched :(
Happened to me once too when I hit a cat...was horrible...
Loved the deer revenge clip...was hilarious :D
