I am in the process of buying one of these!! ... well it is a twin isn't it?!!? 8)
I intend to use it as a trackbike ...
I'll upload some pics in a bit :)
Anyone want an SV650 trackbike*!?! ... looks like I might have my #2 up for grabs very soon!! :D
*It is SORN and my spare bike, I have barely used it (only tested it and giving it a few laps every time I have taken it just to 'blow the cobwebs' ... to date my #1 has run flawlessly so there has been no call for it to be used in earnest ... its just nice having a spare in the van ... Anyway, it has V5 and I have all the road stuff to put it back on the road ... so I can either make it back into a road bike and MOT it or sell it as a track bike ...

geeeez.....thats some road rash.
that will be a hella lot of fun on track i bet.
Nice bikes, but getting spares can be a nightmare. Aprilia still haven't reconciled the computerised stock ordering systems since merging with Piaggio.
The worst bit of that one is the swingarm, but I'm sure you'll find a good one on eBay, if you can't live with the dent. Flogging the good bodywork panels and headlight should cover some of the costs of getting it good again.

The way I see it, new brake leaver (and clipon as it is bent), race can and I am away!! :D .. but year, take the light out and anything I don't need and try and get a bit of cash back! :)
The swingarm is cosmetic, not structural, so I don't care ...
It does need a rude can mind 8)
The parts thing does concern me, but I'd probably be buying 2nd hand eBay stuff anyway ...
The swingarm is only dinged, what you see there is how its molded from a fat swingarm to two smaller points where the wheel mounts. A good polish bit on a dremel and people will be non the wiser that its been scratched. Does not look all that bad realy, good the tank is clean.

Nice one blue...
How much are you selling your no 2 bike for?
It does need a rude can mind 8)
You sure? What with the 102db limit at most circuits now I think that original can might be rude enough:)

I am not sure I am going to go for it yet ... he wants £2k to offset his losses, but he isn't going to get that (from me) ;)
I suspect I could settle at £1800! ... but I really need to think if I WANT (not would like) it ... £1800 is still a lot of money that I could spend in so many other ways ;)
As for my #2, if I want the best I can for it, I need to fully convert it back to road (and afternoons work of putting the original plastics and footpegs etc back on). ASM-Forever got £2.2k for his 99 bike off insurance. I think he was exceptionally lucky, but they do seem to readily sell for £1.5k-£2k this time of year, mine is not a minter, and i am not greedy, but with these figures in mind, I'd want to see between £1.1 and £1.5k for mine.
I'll convert it back and take some pics (I'll take some 'now' pics too incase someone wants it as it as-is).
Its a nice blue one - pretty much the same as my Avatar 8)
