The boxes themselves. I just checked them... I must say, I'm mighty impressed and hadn't seen that before.

use paint to mach the colours the tablet thingi and they are !!!

if your brain is still trying to screw you over and the rectangle looks graded, cover the cylinder with one hand and then view it;)

Actually they are. Use paint and draw over the pic with the box colour if you don't believe it. Part of the illusion is to do with the surrounding boxes around A being lighter and B being darker.

Same as those same size illusions.

If you squint hard so that your eyes are almost closed, you will stop your brain compensating for the shadow and see the squares in the lee of the shadow become darker... :)
