You have to laugh at the fact he tried to fix his plate to his bike when he was stopped.

But I'm laughing because he's a w****r & deserves the book thrown at him for his stupidity.

I predict jail time.

Wrong. 28 day suspended sentence, 40 hours community service and one year ban. (http://www.witneygazette.co.uk/mostpopular.var.1397613.mostcommented.wheelie_ride r_escapes_prison.php)

And his bike was taken off him.

My first thought was to agree.

But then, lets face it, there are utter ***** in every walk of life - there are few instances where the minority don't risk giving the majority a bad name. So lets not place anymore importance on this than there actually is - just some git on a motorcycle (and to be fair, it's not like he did, or came close to actually hurting anyone).

It's the self righteous nimbys who've nothing better to do in their pointless insipid lives than to campaign against liberty who need shooting, not the biker.

i have to say... I though this was pretty funny.
He rallies past a GATSO with the plates off, and then is unlucky enough to get reefed a while later.
And then the plod put 2 and 2 together.

What's with all the indignation? He did a wheelie. Big swing. He broke the speed limit, big swing. He got caught. That sucks for him. He gets punished, and his bike lifted off him.

Other than the amuzeing pictures, it's a bit of a non-story. I would say that a hell of a lot of folks around here have clocked 60 in a 30 mile zone.
Maybe even on their back wheel even.

So it goes.

Yep, complete twot but like you say they're in every walk of life. Very interesting write up by the Daily Mail tho:

"Bikers meet there regularly in the evenings and every Monday there can be in excess of 150 bikes parked up in restaurant car parks.""The bikes create a lot of noise for residents - especially in the Nuneham Courtenay area where the houses are built close to the road's edge."

....Ahhh, so now we're getting to the nub of it :D

Just goes to show that traffic cameras can't catch jack, it takes traffic cops to catch people and I suspect the major reason the cops were there in the first place is outlined in the above two paragraphs...

Fair enought to take the plate off if you plan to do a fast wheelie thru a Gatso. If thats your thing.

But then to keep riding around for a few days with no plate on and get a tug from the cops for it? What a dope!!

I'm regularly taking my plate off, no not for wheelies as i cant do a decent one if i wanted to, but cos i park up in london's busy central roads a lot. If i see a warden hanging bout my bike then i'll keep the plate in my jacket till i'm round the next corner and put it on there so the git cant try and give me a ticket as i ride away from him.

Sometimes you gotta do whats neccesary in the game of life :D
