hey all,
just had a letter from my insurance company saying a third party is trying to claim against me!!!! *******s!!!!

i havent even been in a accident and not just that just because i dont remember it and because i dont they are saying i didnt stop at the supposed accident..... if i knew i had hit a car 1. i would of stopped and 2 i would of probably come off the bike and had some damage.

i phoned insurance company asking for more details bout it all they could give me is hanger lane......well yeah hanger lane is a fking big road lol and thats it... no time of day and no damage report to car....

if i did hit a car it probably would of been either wing mirror or slight rubber mark with boot...

so hey hopefully i wont have to pay insurance or get done for failinmg to stop.....

tell me what u peeps think

Innocent before proven guilty is how things work in the UK. Ask them to supply conclusive proof it was you and then you'll pay.

Until then, deny, deny, deny.

Have you had a letter from the police for failing to stop at the scene of an accident?

If not and there is no proof of damage to your vehicle they have no leg to stand on. Not even a small leg.

I was wondering that. Isn't it illegal for anyone other than a copper to do that?

Could someone have cloned your number plate perhaps?

Mate got 3 speeding tickets nowhere near where he lives and argued he was cloned. Whilst waiting to go to court, he was arrested for dangerous driving and then for leaving the scene of an accident. (Not a scratch on his car). They then came to arrest him for yet another accident where he had abandoned the car at the scene and finally believed him as his car was still on the drive.

Cloning, never happens, no such thing.

My lad also got a letter from his insurers about an accident he never had. He denied it, ask for details of who was claiming against him, when, where etc. and it all went quite. Makes you wonder if sometimes people try to get their damage fixed by blaming anyone in the hope that they are not going to fight, know who was driving etc.

Deny everything as you clearly do not have a clue what they are talking about! Dont let your insurance company just roll over on this one - They have to provide the evidence and if the other party want to take it further they should get the police involved because failing to stop is against the law.... so why are they not involved!

A girl at work was reversed into by some no-mark and as there was no damage to be seen she didnt bother taking any details. When her renewal came up, it was £500 more (she is only young!) and on checking found out that someone had claimed against her in the accident! She got a solicitor involved and the insurance company soon changed their tune and restored her insurance record on the central database.

I had a mate that this happened to. Someone else was responsible for the accident but the person never got the number plate, they then come across another vehcile on the road at the same time(ish) it occured, took their reg number and blamed them. Good scam .. you were there at the time and you use the road, so you get thinking. . . was it me?
